Ten Line Tuesday

Mindy, Arran and Sav haven't left me alone. Instead they give me bits and pieces of their story. It's a mess, but here's a bit they've let me in on. Enjoy!

"Mindy, wait." Garrison trotted to where she stood. "Don't do this."

"Do what?" She stepped backwards to move out of his reach.

"Don't build a wall between us. You're the closest thing I have to a best friend." He touched her cheek, rubbing his thumb over her skin. "I'd be lost without you."

"I'm married to two wonderful men." Instead of the warm, fuzzy feelings she got when Arran or Sav touched her, her stomach churned. She batted Garrison's hand away. "You knew that when we started working together. This--whatever you think it is, can't happen."

"Maybe that's why I'm devastated." The muscles in his jaw worked overtime. "I know what they have and can't seem to hold on to. I know and I'm the one on the outside looking in. Breaks my heart."

Bile rose in her throat. She'd gotten too close to him. Regardless of how Sav and Arran treated her, she took things too far and allowed Garrison to see the bitter part of her life. Well, shit.

WIP Wednesday on Thursday

trebuchet / 123RF Stock Photo

It's WIP day and yes, I'm a day late. It happens. Some of you know I write as Megan Slayer as well as writing as Wendi Zwaduk. Why? Because there are things that Megan can write and get away with that Wendi can't. Is that bad? Nope. I realize there are readers of Wendi who don't want the elements I have in my Megan work and that's cool. I don't mind. But Megan's been getting a lot more attention lately. It's not a bad thing, just the juggle of writing two names.

So what have I been up to under the Wendi brand? I'm still plotting out Arran/Sav/Mindy's story. It's complicated and I really need to sit down to plot it out correctly. There's a lot of "him" going on in this one.

Anything else? Yes. Although she's not talking really loud, Summer, from Please Remember Me has been chatting with me. She and Andrew Speedle had a thing and would like to sort the thing out or go their separate ways. So... I'm listening.

I used to think I was a powerhouse writer. Give me a short deadline and I'll knock that sucker out. These two stories are proving to me that the powerhouse isn't going full tilt. That's not a bad thing. :-) So enjoy and happy reading while I'm happily writing for you.

WIP Wednesday!

trebuchet / 123RF Stock Photo

Arran and Mindy's story is slower going than I had planned. Always happens that way. I've got tons of characters chattering at one time and only so many can be heard at one time. I'm trying. I like their story so I'm willing to be patient. So not much to tell today, but hey, I'm getting there. :-)

Five Sentence Friday

tradigi / 123RF Stock Photo

Five Sentences from the WIP. Grin. Some time with Mindy and Arran! Enjoy!!

"I'm meeting with Brandon."
Arran whipped around in his seat. "Oh?"
"Don't be so dramatic." Mindy shook her head. "He's a friend."

Five Sentence Friday!!

tradigi / 123RF Stock Photo

Hmm... 5 WIP sentences...

How about this from Arran, Sav and Mindy's story:

"You don't get it, do you?" Mindy tipped her head and her eyes flashed. "I have a life and it doesn't always revolve around you and Sav."

Arran gritted his teeth. "It should."

WIP Wednesday

trebuchet / 123RF Stock Photo

I haven't had much on the writing front happening lately. Not for a lack of wanting to. Nope. I've wanted to. But I have an alter ego. Megan Slayer. Ever heard of her? Yeah, she's had a lot of super shorts that just keep busting out of her and well, I can't contain them. It's not a bad thing as the super shorts are super hot. So I can't complain.

Another thing is the amount of releases lately. I'm NOT complaining. Trust me. I'm thankful for each and every one of them. Smut in the City just came out. Switch is available for preorder if you’re a Total-E-Bound newsletter subscriber/VIP member. At the end of the month, One More Night, my foray into the 1Night Stand series drops from Decadent. Busy month. If you haven’t stopped over, head to the Cyber Launch Party. Yesterday was the party for Switch. Comment with your email before 10 am EST and you’re eligible to win a pdf from either me or Desiree Holt. How cool is that?

I’m going to work on the story for Arran, Mindy and Sav next. There’s trouble in paradise. I’m kinda excited because Arran and Sav got the girl a little too easily and now they’re going to have to work for her. Grin. Always fun to torture characters.

Okay, time to head back to the bat cave. I’ve got stories that want to be written all of the sudden. Grin.

Five Sentence Friday...

tradigi / 123RF Stock Photo

Five Sentences from the WIP... Considering the WIP is still in the notebook... Here's my best go at it. Grin.

Another man. Arran gritted his teeth and stared at the text she'd sent. Going to see Doug and will be home late. No love you or anything. He'd been through the whole break up thing before--but Mindy didn't strike him as the cheating type. Well, shit.

WIP Wednesday!!

trebuchet / 123RF Stock Photo

So what's happening on the WIP front...not much. Okay, that's not totally the truth. I mean, things are happening.

Rhiannon from Savin' Me got her story told. I had no idea she wanted a story and then she started talking. Grin. Love when that happens.

Arran and Mindy have started talking again, too. Apparently, and yes, Toni, this is for you, there's trouble in paradise, but not the trouble one might think. Grin. I won't disclose a lot, but let's just say there's jealousy there. I love torturing my characters.

Summer from Please Remember Me has come back. I had a lot of people asking me about Jude and Drew from When You're With Me and that got Summer talking. I'm excited. Now if Maggie would start talking, I'd be in like Flynn....

Oh well, back to the bat cave!

Sunday Snog ~ Someone Like You

Thought I'd use an oldie but a goodie for the snog this week. But if you want to know more, you'll have to check out the book!

Someone Like You
Total-E-Bound
Prequel to Tangled Up
M/F, toys, anal sex
novella
Out now!

She’s the one he wants, he just doesn’t know it yet.

Arran Mayes—Confirmed bachelor. Loves a good bottle of wine, hearty conversation and men. Determined to open his own pizzeria, he’s not looking for love or a woman.

Then he sees her. Can a tomcat playboy settle down in the arms of a good woman?

Mindy Dawson—She’s not interested in relationships or dating after having been through the wringer more times than she can count. Attending college is for a BA...not an "MRS" degree.

Until she sees him. Is she woman enough to tame Arran’s ways? Or will their love affair burn out before it gets started?

Reader Advisory: This story contains lovers who didn’t know they connected, finding their mutual satisfaction with anal sex and a few toys for fun.

And now for the snog-a-licious fun!

Arran stared at her mouth. Lush coral lips, just a hint of gloss or lipstick. His mouth watered. No five o’clock shadow to abrade his face, but tickly wisps of her hair swirled over his cheek when she moved. He liked the scratch of a beard, but the tickle had promise.
“I want to kiss you.” There. He’d blurted out his intentions. When the fuck had things become so complicated? Men weren’t so hard to deal with.
“Um…so do it?”
Women couldn’t seem to make up their minds. Neither could he. “Min—”
Instead of giving him time to talk himself out of what he wanted, Mindy went for it and kissed him first. Soft lips connected with his. Her breasts crushed against his chest. She stroked wide circles around his shoulders and back. Arran groaned. Damn. If he thought kissing boys was fun, kissing girls—this girl to be exact—ranked right up there with perfect.
His jeans constricted around his hips and holy hell, he had a stiffy. Fuck, yeah. Heat flowed through his veins as she tangled her tongue with his. She tasted sweet, like mint and something else. Dew? Rain? Could one taste rain? If it was possible, then Mindy tasted like spring rain.
Mindy ground her hips into the V of his thighs. Whoa. A new rush of heat and tingles shot to his cock. They had to stop—had to slow down at least or he’d come in his jeans. He wanted more than a quick fuck or petting session in the hallway. Arran broke the kiss first, cupping her face in both his hands.
“What?”

Sunday Snoggin' and Tangled Up

It's time for the snog and well, I'm glad I'm getting back into the swing of things. I've been on a vacation for the last couple days. Edits, copy edits, a last minute submission and some other fun. So here's a snog. I'm so glad Victoria Blisse has these. They are a lot of fun! On with the snog!!

Tangled Up
Total-E-Bound
novella
mmf, mf, toys, bdsm, m/f/m
Available At:      Total-E-BoundAll Romance Ebooks         Fictionwise          Amazon   Barnes and Noble

What if the person you want for the rest of your life isn’t one... but two?

Mindy Mayes knew her husband was bisexual from the moment they met. She loved Arran with her whole heart until the day he asked for a separation to be with his partner, Sav. Through the ups and downs of life after the marriage, she, Arran and Sav remained close.

Things are about to change.

Though he walked away, Arran’s never given up on a life with Mindy. He’s in love with Sav and totally committed. But it’s his wedding anniversary. What if they took the threesome created out of friendship and made it into something more?

Maybe the perfect number is three after all.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of m/m intimacy, bondage—including a wicked hot scene with nipple clips and anal sex. Oh my!

And now for that snog!!

Here goes nothing.

Her insides trembled as she strode up to the front door. As she reached for the brass handle, Arran appeared on the other side of the screen door. “Hiya, sweetheart.”

A cross between a giggle and a snort escaped her throat. Only Arran called her sweetheart and got away with it. When she dragged her gaze from his eyes, she realised the man wasn’t wearing clothes.

The tips of her ears burned and she dropped her voice to a murmur. “You always answer the door in the nude?” The very idea dampened her panties. Her body throbbed. Yes, she wanted to seduce him, but not in front of the rest of the neighbourhood.

“Only when a beautiful woman is on my stoop.” He backed away from the door. “Come in before the neighbours wonder. You remember how nosy Mrs. Parks is? Well, she’s gotten worse.”

“She’s ninety-three and blind as a bat, but I’m sure she gets her jollies out of seeing your piece.” Mindy crossed the threshold and stopped three feet inside the door before closing it.

She rolled her shoulders inside her parka. “You got me here. What is it you planned to do with me?”

“Fuck you senseless, Mrs. Mayes.” Arran’s eyes gleamed.

“Arran.” Her gaze fell to the floor, only to be jerked back to his face when he wrapped his arms around her and unzipped her coat.

“That’s right, sweetheart. Scream my name.” He tilted her back in his embrace and feathered kisses over her cheeks and chin, sending a quiver through her body. “I’m tired of just being friends. Tell me you need me and want me back.”

Losing her footing and shuddering from a case of nervous laughter, Mindy toppled to the floor, bringing Arran down hard on top of her.

“You couldn’t wait, either? Damn, I knew I loved you for a reason.”

Sunday Snoggin' With Someone Like You

This week I wanted to feature a couple of characters that put me through the emotional wringer. Yes. The Sunday Snog today comes from Someone Like You. Mindy and Arran are certainly two I'll never forget.

Available at Total-E-Bound and AllRomance Ebooks

And now for that snog!

“I never thought I’d find someone like you, someone who gets me. Makes me laugh. Someone who cares enough to pick me up when I’m down.”

This time Mindy did shove him—down onto the couch. Her hair dusted his face in a whispery caress. Her breasts strained against the fabric of her T-shirt, her taut nipples prominent. His throat ran dry. If he moved his hands, he’d feel those sweet nipples. Could almost taste them.

“Let me.” She straddled his hips and sat up straight. “If I’m going to ruin you for anyone else, I might as well go all out.” Mindy grasped the hem of her shirt and whipped the cotton over her head.

Arran gasped. The tips of his ears burned. No bra. She wore no bra. Wasn’t there some law somewhere stating women wore the contraptions?

Her smile twisted into a frown. “No?”

His blood thrummed in his ears. His cock stood at attention behind his zipper. “Come here.”

Arran tugged her back down into his arms and met her for a kiss. Her tongue danced against his mouth. He groaned and let her in. Mindy curled her tongue around his and sucked at his bottom lip. At the same time, she snaked her hand down between their bodies and massaged his dick. The sizzles low in his groin kicked up to a full five-alarm fire. He needed to get out of his clothes and fast. Hell, he needed her beneath him.

Without breaking the kiss, Arran sat up then stood and carried her to the bedroom. She might have protested the move—he wasn’t sure and he wasn’t going to find out. He placed Mindy on the bed and stared at her. Her flushed cheeks, tangled hair and wild eyes called to him without words.

“You shouldn’t carry me.” She brushed a lock of hair from her forehead. Her breasts heaved with every breath. She moved to cover herself. “Why are you staring?”

Why was he staring? Fear and embarrassment cascaded through him. “I’m at the edge of the great unknown.”

Monday Moans - Someone Like You

Thought I'd share a snippet from Someone Like You since the book releases, TODAY!!

Mindy bit into her sub and suppressed another grin. Arran Mayes. Holy freaking crap. He’d made the first move. He’d talked to her. Singled her out. She squeezed her eyes shut. How’d she respond to him? Not like the vampish, come-hither ways she’d practised. Nope. She came across like just another girl. Nothing exciting. Plain.
Damn.
“Is the seat still open?”
Her heart fluttered and she opened her eyes. Good grief, she’d become goofy since he’d first spoken to her not five minutes prior. “All yours.”
“We should’ve struck up a conversation at the beginning of the semester. Would’ve been a lot more fun getting through Reinhold’s boring-as-sin lectures.” Arran plopped down next to her. “You’re easy to talk to.” He took a long swig from his bottle of soda. “So easy.”
Kiss of death. Almost as bad as ‘you have a lovely personality’. She sighed. Enough self-browbeating. “I don’t bite…much.”
Arran choked on his swallow of soda. He brushed the fizz from his lips and laughed. “I didn’t see that coming, but I love it.” He paused and stared at her.
Goosebumps rose on her skin. Good? Bad? She wasn’t sure.
“What are you doing Friday night?” His head down, Arran scrawled notes from her notebook. “If you’re not doing anything, there’s this party at my apartment building. Nothing exciting, but I’d… It’d be cool if you could come.”
A party. How long had it been since she’d been invited to a party? Too long. Arran wanted her there. The silly voice in the back of her head screamed caution. The whole thing could be a set-up.
I could love someone like you. She swallowed hard. Where had that come from? They barely knew each other’s names. Deep feelings for him shouldn’t have crossed her mind. She had opened her mouth to answer when another voice blotted her out.
“Mindy isn’t going to go to a party of yours.” Phillip twirled the seat next to her around and sat down. “She’s not a party girl. She’s prim and cold as ice.”
Arran looked up, narrowed his eyes and shook his head. A tight smile formed on his lips. “Phillip.” He closed the notebook and gingerly handed it to Mindy. “Thanks, hon. Think about what I said.”
“You’re wasting your time, man.” Phillip snatched her sub from the Styrofoam plate and munched happily.
Arran shook his head again and ambled away.
Mindy slumped in her seat. Imagine, the man who stoked her fire being chased away by the bane of her existence.

Monday Moans ~ Never Say Goodbye

Sometimes there are characters that just won't go away. They've had their stories told but they just aren't ready to do whatever characters do when their done.

It's funny. Wendi told us that we could tell our story. Gave us a short story and everything. You'd think we'd be happy and go on our merry HEA way.

We're easy, but not that easy.

Seems a lot of people wanted to know how Min and I got together. Funny. I think about it all the time. Am in wonder as to why she stuck around. I mean, I thought men were easy to get, yanno? Men make a decision and stick with it. Men go for what they want and take it.

Women....good Lord.

She smells good, her hair's like spun gold and strawberries with a little vanilla, her skin...its like touching silk or something. And she gets me in this oddball way that I didn't see coming.

But I like guys.

Yanno?

Ugh. I need to take a walk and think. Read Tangled Up. That's half the story. I'll let you know when the rest of the story comes about. We aren't letting Wendi rest until it's done and she's getting cranky.

Flirty Friday

It's that time of the week...Friday Flirts...

I've got to say I've been busy and whew...the week flew by. So what's on the docket? Funny you should ask.

Gypsy keeps making an appearance in my head. She's infatuated with the Katy Perry song E.T.. "Let me dance to it. Please?!?!?!?!?!" She even crawled into the head of my CP and begged her, too. Sad. So, she got a playlist. I'll get back to her. Can't let her lead all the time.

I also subbed a story to Liquid Silver a couple weeks ago. Remember farmer? Yup. It's his story. Who knows if they'll take it, but I tried. He'll find a home somewhere.

I worked with Megan on her elemental story. She went ahead and subbed it. We'll see. I'm psyched about it.

I had a lot of people ask for Arran and Mindy's story. I heard the song Someone Like You, by Adele and was totally ready to pen it. It' got the pain from all three people involved and it also shows a fragile strength. I hope that shows in the final story as well. I'm 11k into it. Hope to have it done soon.

And for those who wondered, I am working on a story for Berto and Remi. They weren't forgotten. Goofy men. I'm also working on the outline for Rhett's story. He's been...difficult. Oh well. If he was easy (well, he's easy, but that's beside the point), he'd be done.

That's all for now. Enjoy the tunes. :-)

Thank You Thursday ~ A Review!! A Review!!!

Y'all are realizing I'm a vocal girl. I love a good cover and I love a good review. I even love the bad ones (Because I learn from them), but this is a good review and I am thrilled to chatter about it!!

Honeysuckle over at Whipped Cream had this to say about Tangled Up:
This is a really sweet story. I’m always pleasantly surprised when an author comes up with a unique storyline. Tangled Up takes the story of three people who have an unconventional love for one another and suggests that love is a table for three rather than the traditional party of two. There is a completely believable misunderstanding that arises from a lack of communication.

Why thank you!! I'm thrilled you liked the uniqueness of the plot.

Ms. Zwaduk did a terrific job of building a tangible and obviously loving relationship between Arran and Sav. At the same time you hear the love that Arran still has for Mindy when he first leaves her a voice message and then again when they speak in person. I felt like Sav’s acceptance of Mindy in their lives is a sign of his love and trust in Aaran that was integral to making the whole relationship work.

Again, thanks for really getting the story.

My only real problem with the story is that I felt like I was thrown into the story with only a couple of snapshots of the past to get me caught up and invested in the present before it moves swiftly towards the HEA. I would like to have been given some more background on both Arran and Mindy’s relationship as well as how/where Aaran met and fell in love with Sav. Having said that, this is a short story and it is still an entertaining read despite its length.

Ah, such is the bane of short stories. Only so much room for details. But I'm glad you mentioned it. I toyed with the idea of Arran and Sav getting together (when they did) but haven't gone down that road, yet. I completely agree it could've been longer and maybe one of these days I'll add to it or write a prequel. You've indeed given me an idea or two.

Are you are looking for a sweet and unique twist on a menage in the making? If so, pick up a copy of Tangled Up. This little novella has plenty of heart coupled with some steamy heat in just the right mix to keep you reading. This is an easy read as well as an obvious recommend!

Again, thank you. I love when a reviewer is pleased with my work. Gave me reason for a Snoopy dance all day long. :-)
