Blurb:

As a computer hacker, she demands justice.
As a woman, she craves two powerful and commanding men.

Shana’s been hacking one of Manhattan’s most corrupt executives, making him pay for what he’s done to his victims. Using her skills, she convinces Mike and Cody to hire her at their intelligence-gathering firm, where intimate details help their clients.
Never has Mike met a woman as delicious as Shana. Smart as hell, curvy and assured, she’d be a delightful challenge in bed. Cody’s carnal hunger is equally intense. He and Mike want to know everything about her.
She won’t divulge the secrets of her past. All she can offer is unquenchable desire and her heart.

During weeks of shameless lust and pleasure, Mike and Cody peel away the layers of Shana’s life. The stunning truth changes everything. They’ll do all that they can to keep her safe…and in their arms.

Excerpt #1:

Neither Mike Russo nor Cody Latham had expected her to show up in their conference room.
Of course, they wouldn’t have, given the various laws she’d broken to be here.
Shana Gallagher’s pulse ticked up another notch at that and their good looks. Virile and commanding. They were deliciously hot and smart, having once worked in military intelligence.
Mike, the proverbially tall, dark and handsome hunk, had found his way into government via his MIT training. He’d left DC five years ago to start his own firm. Now thirty-three, he regarded Shana with momentary surprise then male interest as his attention raked over her.
Despite her best intentions, Shana’s skin tingled.
To his side was Cody. Equally impressive at thirty-four, he forgot to take a sip of his coffee. The Starbucks cup was inches from his mouth as he also took her in. Quietly and restrained.
Shana’s belly quivered at the heat in his gaze, so at odds with his military background. It showed in the set of his broad shoulders and modified buzz cut, his hair short on the sides with volume on top. Those dark blond locks complemented his golden skin and hazel eyes.
Mike’s were greenish-gray, an arresting color given his olive complexion and chestnut hair, a bit longish and casually styled. Several strands dangled over his forehead, begging a woman to ease them back.
Currents of warmth rippled through Shana, leaving her cruelly weak. She hadn’t expected to react like this. During her research on them, she’d seen hundreds of their photos, including those not meant for the public. Their days spent with women, outdoors at the beach or sailing, both men’s hard bodies stripped to their swim trunks and bared to the sun. Mike’s bold tattoo on his left bicep. The cruel scar on Cody’s right pec that enhanced his masculinity.
None of those pictures had done them justice.
“Mr. Russo, Mr. Lathan,” the office manager murmured, her somber hush appropriate for this high-priced firm in New York’s Financial District. Dressed in a severe gray suit, the matronly woman smelled funereal, of incense and carnations. She inclined her perfectly coiffed head to Shana. “Ms. Gallagher, your four o’clock.”
Before Mike or Cody could say “huh” or “who?” Shana stepped deeper into the yawning room. It was possibly two thousand square feet and decorated in a combination of rose, beige and brown, its bank of windows offering a spectacular view of the harbor. An NYPD boat and cruises packed with tourists cut through the water, leaving foamy trails. Sunlight winked off those swells and the glass buildings, giving the early September day a dreamy, golden haze.
The door clicked shut behind Shana, leaving her alone with the men.
Mike pushed to his feet, his six-three frame superbly clothed in an Italian suit that probably cost five grand. Its subtle navy tones and his pale blue shirt heightened the effect of his sapphire tie. Cody’s was gray-and-white striped, his shirt charcoal, his suit a pewter color. Surprisingly fashionable given his conservative background.
He stood. His height matched Mike’s. Both men were lean yet muscular.
Power and male privilege radiated from them. Everything Shana had always mistrusted and despised. She couldn’t quite manage those feelings now. She knew far too much about them. They were surprisingly good men, downright decent, which added to their seductive allure and had brought her here.
Shana crossed the room, forcing herself to walk casually as though she belonged. The slit in her pencil skirt allowed the black fabric to fall away from her leg, exposing a bit of her thigh. Mike and Cody’s attention dropped to her sheer stockings and spike heels.
Hard carnal interest flared on their faces.
A curious mixture of pleasure and caution rushed through Shana, draining her strength. She put her leather tote on the granite table, the smooth stone a soft rose color speckled with gray, black and brown.
The moment she slipped her hand under the tote’s flap, Mike said, “Hold it right there.”
He’d spoken quietly. However, his deep baritone filled the impressive space, demanding obedience.
Shana calmed herself as well as she could and lifted her face to his. At this hour, stubble shadowed his upper lip, chin and cheeks. His lashes were unspeakably long. His attention moved from the tote to her silk blouse, the color of black cherries. No one had to tell Shana that her nipples were hard and jutting against the fabric. Suddenly, Mike couldn’t seem to look anywhere else.
A wave of heat rushed to her neck, her arousal unruly.
He cleared his throat. His prominent Adam’s apple bobbed with his swallow. “Who are you?”
Time for the truth. Sort of.

Monday Morning Armchair Quarterback - Week Seven - On Time!

So we're up to the actual week. It wasn't good this time around. Pretty sad, really. But I'm not giving up. Still second in the division. Let's hope it stays that way. It's time to get back up to speed. Honorable mentions and more!

Here are the Honorable Mentions from last week:

"knocked down on the release."
I'd assume. He had a big release!

"coming right up the gut."
ouch. full contact sex. interesting.

"JJ Watt is very hot."
Duh!

"he has to stay deep."
deep penetration is much better than shallow. Or at least that's what he says.

"Just leaked in."
Messy.

Messy can be fun. Now on to those football funnies of the week.

"sack of the week."
Snort. Guess they all go on a board so they can be voted on.
Also
Sounds like a nutsack showcase!

"getting off the ball."
i'd say getting off the dick is better, but whatever works.

"explosive player"
Getting aroused will do that. He likes to show off.

"inside there, this quick and with long with tall arms...they're gonna butt you with a squint."
That's such a mouthful I'm not even sure what he meant, but the guy has got to look odd!

"deep ball play"
Guys do like that.

"heavy ball coverage."
Must be a thick rubber that goes all over everywhere or some exceptional ball skills.

And now for that Doozy of the Week. I love these. These are so much fun.

"last year he played in the slot."
are you saying he switched sides? or he's got a new preference? Just making sure we're clear.

Since you're reading this, I'll bring this up. There's a Bengals player whose daughter was diagnosed with cancer. A portion of his jersey sales are being donated to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital to help with cancer research. It's a great cause. I've ordered mine. Want to know more?

Thank you!

Monday Morning Armchair Quarterback ~ Week Six...late, too...

This week wasn't much better for the Bengals. Sigh. A tie. Drat. At least it wasn't worse...
Here are the quotes for the week:
(By the way, going to a con totally ruins all your planning. At least it does to mine *G*. Enjoy!)

"Bring in the fresh guys who can push the pocket."
Fresh is good, but to push out the pocket...is that a new euphemism?

"A little fast float."
Not even sure where this goes, but I'm not sure I want to know.

"Didja see him pump the arm and head?"
Multi-talented!

"Got him wrapped up. That is excellent."
Excitement is good. He's got excitement.

"A turnover on the strip."
Public sex? Nice!

"In and out, in and out."
Yep, that's generally how it works.

And now for that Doozy of the Week. I love these. These are so much fun.

"A big body--really pressing into him."
He likes it that way, so it's all good.

Monday Morning Armchair Quarterback ~ Week Five...way late!

I got behind for the last two weeks, so in honor of that I've got the Week Five Quotes. Oh and yeah, I know. My Bengals blew it. Sigh. We thought this one wouldn't be easy, but not this...dismal.

"25-30 touches per game."
They make sure they're effective!

"Three tight ends set."
Preparedness is next to godliness.

"initial penetration."
Play by play is fun.

"Doubled 'em--in and out."
Two at a time? Multitasking!

"strip sack"
Does that mean removing the rubber?

"look for the match-ups that fit the guys"
Sounds like sorting out the pairings for the play session.

And now for that Doozy of the Week. I love these. These are so much fun.

"Bursting up the middle."
Well, they did want something bursting.

Knights of Stone by Lisa Carlisle

I've got my dear friend and fellow author, Lisa Carlisle, here today with her newest book, Knights of Stone. Check it out! You'll be glad you did.

Knights of Stone by Lisa Carlisle

Highland Gargoyles 1

Gargoyles, tree witches, and wolf shifters have divided the Isle of Stone after a great battle twenty-five years ago. When Kayla, a tree witch, hears about the unconventional rock concerts in the gargoyle’s territory, she sneaks from her coven and into their territory to see for herself. Night after night, she returns to see one in particular shift into human form and play guitar at these unconventional shows.

For several nights, Mason has kept watch for the pixie-like female. He plans to seduce her, thinking she’s a visitor from another island. When he discovers she’s one of the tree witches, he retreats, attempting to keep his distance. The temptation is strong, but forbidden.

Kayla and Mason attempt to meet in secret, but other elements on the isle command their attention. A magical cloak created by the three clans on the island is thinning, leading to repercussions for all the clans. Kayla and Mason are caught in the middle of it, and their actions may change the fate for all.

This novella was originally released as part of the USA Today bestselling Highland Shifters paranormal romance boxed set.

Excerpt

A stagehand with tartan draped over one shoulder climbed onto the stage and walked to the closest statue. He fastened the kilt over its shoulder and around its waist with a thick belt, covering the statue’s massive thighs. Kayla flushed, picturing why the coverings were necessary once the transformation began. The kilt had become a key detail in her fantasies about the guitarist, since it was the only clothing he wore. The stagehand continued dressing each statue with the same brilliant blue tartan worn by the gargoyle clan.
The last vestige of sunlight disappeared from the sky, and night draped the stage like a closing curtain. The statues loomed, dark silhouettes barely discernible by the crescent moon with the backdrop of the craggy cliffs and the rugged peaks of waves in the Atlantic Ocean behind them. The murmur of voices was replaced by silence. Waiting…
Five torches blazed on the stage all at once, lit by an unseen force. The audience erupted in cheers as the dancing lights from the flickering fire basked the statues. The flames lowered, casting the gargoyles in an eerie, almost reverent glow.
Movement. So slight, Kayla wondered if it was simply a play of light and shadows in her anticipation for the change. She fixed her gaze on the statue in front of her, the one she’d gravitated to each time she’d had sneaked out to see the show. Its massive gray form stood straight on two legs built for sturdiness. Its chest jutted out proudly. Gray wings with detailed feathers etched in the stone arched from a point below its shoulder blades. Eyes cast straight ahead on a face that appeared to be a mixture of canine and lion. Its right hand twitched, so slightly she would have missed it if she hadn’t stared so intently. Then a clawed foot inched forward.
Murmurs of astonishment burst from the crowd as the transformation began. Their cries of fervor grew louder as the monstrous statues transformed into taller, slimmer figures with the bronzed skin of warriors who battled under the midday sun. The tartan fabric fell over their thighs as they stood erect, covering their nudity.
Kayla barely blinked, mesmerized as always, as the statue before her stood to full height, taking on the form of a human male, but with beautiful raven wings. Hair just as black snaked rebelliously past his chin. The stony eyes flickered with animation, turning to a mossy green. His deep gaze seared the audience, seeming to burn anything in the path. When he found Kayla, he stopped. His expression was unreadable, but the intensity in his unblinking eyes made her swallow. She froze under the scrutiny as if hypnotized, unable to break eye contact. Her stomach lurched, heart pounded, and every muscle in her body tightened, fueled with blood now scorching through her veins. His penetrating appraisal affected her so. When his eyes took on a smoldering glint, her skin tingled and a red-hot awareness grew between her thighs.
He broke the stare and continued to assess the audience. She gasped, not realizing she had been holding her breath, and panted while she tried to breathe at a normal rate.
He turned on robust legs and strode to a guitar stand. She tore her eyes from him to note the other gargoyles. They, too, had shifted into the form of striking males. One had black hair draped further down his back, one had long blond hair, and two had reddish-brown hair—one wavy and shaggy, the other straight. They took their place at other instruments. She sought the guitarist again and caught the first sound of the pick striking the strings. On hearing the guitar projected through the amp, the crowd roared again, pressing Kayla forward.
The freak show was about to begin.
Spotlights flooded the musicians, powered by solar panels near a massive amplifier. The guitarist continued playing and the others joined in, playing a raucous crossover between hard rock and heavy metal. The one with long blond hair grabbed hold of the microphone and belted out a shattering cry that sounded like a call to battle. The crowd went pin drop silent to listen and then cheered in unison as the band played on. The front man sang piercing growls and low croons about the Knights in Stone, the protectors of the ancient forests, battling against the evil tree witches.
Kayla’s coven.
