Friday Flirts! New Banners and some news!

I've got some new banners and this is the first! So you know what day it is on the blog! I'm still hosting tours and posting the occasional review, but hey, it's fun to play with pictures.

~

So what's coming next?

Savin' Me comes out in October, tentatively in print as a part of the Treble Anthology. I'm psyched.

~

I got the contract in hand for When You're With Me and the prequel Over My Head. Both are coming out with Total-E-Bound.

~

I'm still farting around with Gypsy and her boys. Hey, it takes awhile. I'm working on them. I'm also working on Felicity's story as she gave me more details. I thought I'd twiddle with Janine's story as well.

~

I turned in the final edits for Somewhere I Belong so hopefully I find out when that comes out. I'm stoked about that, too.

~

I'm taking part in the Whipped Cream Halloween Blog Fest, the Romance Studio Spookapalooza and the Bewitching Trick or Treat Blog Hop! Come check those out!

~

I'll produce the rest of the banners next week. Enjoy and have a great week!

Thank You Thursday

I don't have a whole lot to say today, but that's ok. I wanted to thank my family for giving me a few moments to update my website, which still needs a couple pages added to, but hey it's better than it was. I wanted to thank them also because starting monday, I've got some cool banners to help distinguish what the day is on the blog. So keep the peepers peeled and next week should be pretty darn colorful!

Enjoy!

What the? Wednesday ... A Review, A Review!!!

Ok, so the title of the post really has nothing to do with the post. No, that's wrong, too. I did get a review and I am happy about it. It's for Ever Fallen in Love and it's from Sensual Reads:

"A great story about second chances, there are plenty of obstacles along the way but Tucker’s persistence makes it all work out."

I'm pretty stoked!

Tucker lost the love of his life once, but this time, he’s not taking no for an answer.

Once a driver, always a driver...

Racing consumes Tucker Poston’s life. Until he sees her again. Megan Rodney. She’s the one person to come between him and his ride. She’s the only woman to understand him. The only woman he’s ever loved. Circumstances tore their love apart. Now he’s determined to show her the contents of his soul, even if it means losing his heart.

Being a driver doesn’t warm his lonely nights. Too bad she’s not interested.

Megan’s not about to fall for his smooth lines and slick image. She’s got a good life as a team owner for a stock car team. Still, memories of their love affair burn bright in her mind. What’s a girl to do when the man of her dreams, the man who pushed her away, wants a second chance at forever?

Contains a little spanking, anal play, and domination shared between former lovers, but no one’s complaining. For good measure, there’s the sizzling use of a Camaro hood for outdoor pleasure.

Sunday Snoggin' with Savin' Me

Savin' Me

novella
In the Treble Anthology
http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=1355

Three is their magic number. Now they’ve got to decide if the magic is worth saving.

Razrs Edge packed stadiums, fuelled by the inner turmoil and passion of the three founding members. The lights aren’t as bright and the crowds cheer a little less now that the threesome has parted ways.

It’s time to bring the magic back.

Parkur’s not convinced the split is for good. They were meant to be three. But can he write the music to convince Juniper and Jacoby to give him a second chance? Juniper and Jacoby want the triad intact. Is the love they shared as three enough to erase the destruction in their collective past?

Contains two heroes hell bent on making sweet music with the woman of their dreams, the rediscovery of passion between three people, hot manlove and ménage action, a little spanking, some toy play, and some bondage...oh yes...

Juniper complied and scurried off his lap. With her hands at her sides, she bowed her head. Jacoby unfolded himself from the chair and crossed the few steps to her position. “I won’t leave you, Ju. You’re mine. Always.” As he kissed her, invading her mouth with his tongue, he nudged her against the wall. He pinched her nipple, eliciting a squeak from deep in her throat. The excited sound sent pinpricks of excitement coursing through his veins. Just one good fucking against the wall to show her he loved and cared for her.

Groaning, Juniper rocked her hips against his thigh. Cream from her pussy slicked his denim-covered crotch. Damn, she wanted him. Jacoby ground into her then reached down between them, rubbing her clit with the pad of his thumb. “Fuck, pet.” Jacoby panted and stroked his cock against her lower belly. “Need you now.”

“Take me.” She wrapped her legs around his waist, granting him access as he lifted her from the floor. “Please fuck me, Sir.”

Releasing her long enough to unzip and withdraw his erection, Jacoby gathered her back into his embrace and slid into her body. The walls of her pussy clenched around him, creating delicious friction. Damn, he’d never last. He built the rhythm in time with her writhing and drove into her slick channel. A melody played in his brain, the same one he heard whenever he made love to her. All he needed to make it perfect was Parkur’s steady drumbeat, his soul with them…

Maybe one day.

“Jac!” Juniper clung to him, her body a mass of shudders.

Jacoby buried his face against her neck and came with one final surge, coating her womb with his seed. “Damn.”

Lowering one leg to the floor, Juniper sagged in his arms. “I love you, Jac.”

“Love you, flower girl.”

Sad Day ~ Thanks Chuck Collier

I love to listen to the radio. Love it. All the songs I listen to are either on the country station or the oldies station. I know, most of those are older than I am. It happens.

A sad thing happened. My favorite radio personality Chuck Collier passed away yesterday at the young age of 64. I'm really upset about this because there was nothing more fun than listening to the end of Lanigan and Malone to shout "Up next is Chuck--Chubby Chucker--Collier is up next!"

It's silly, but yeah, I looked forward to when he chattered between the songs. It was like listening to a parent figure and he was always there. The second time I went to see Gary Allan, at the House of Blues, he did the intro. I was so excited because I got to *see* the person I'd listened to for years.

Thanks for the memories, the good times and the songs.

Friday Flirts!

So what's up this week?

A whole lot of nuthin'. Okay, it's not nothing, but I've been working furiously with Megan and getting a lot my stuff not done. Gotta love her tho.

I'm working on an old vampire story I started over a year ago. Julian is just screaming to have his story finished. So finish him I will. He's my before the end of the year goal. Okay, that's not fair. I've got about three I'd like to at least get rolling before the end of the year, but hey, I'll be patient.

I'm hanging out with a smoking hot excerpt over a Nichelle Gregory's blog
http://simplysexystories.blogspot.com/2011/09/simply-sexy-excerpts-savin-me-by-wendi.html
Come read and enjoy!

And then...

I'll leave you with this because it's funny and I love it.

Thank you Thursday...Outtakes!!

I thought I'd put an outtake of one of my stories here to thank my readers. I mean, why not? Here's a snippet from the original version of Ever Fallen in Love. This isn't edited other than by me and never made it into the actual story because it just wasn't ready so...grin and read on! I hope you enjoy.

"I want us to stay together this time, babe."

"I’d love to," she murmured. "I miss the races--the sights the smells, the fans...all of it. No one at the college is terribly interested in racing. All they care about is facts and figures and making lots of money."

It was almost as if she could step back in time and feel him in her arms.

Megan tilted her head back and kissed him. That same familiar electric current ran the length of her spine. His kiss was a little harder in return and more direct, but it still meant the world to her. She wanted to be as close to Tuck as physically possible. She threw caution to the wind and slid her hands inside his shirt and gingerly ran her fingers along his ripped chest.

His hands were rough against her smooth skin as he slipped the straps of her dress down her arms. Her breasts rose in anticipation. Tucker planted wet, nipping kisses on her swollen nipples.

"Yes. Please. More," she moaned.

He slid out of his shirt and continued to kiss her. She arched her neck to give him access to the sensitive spot on her shoulders. He was the only lover she had ever known, but at this moment, she was sure he was the best. Her cheeks flushed and her heart pounded in her chest.

Weak-kneed, she rested her head on his chest and breathed in his scent. "Make love to me, Tucker."

"Yes." He shucked his khakis and boxers in on swift motion, revealing the reaction she created. Megan slid out of her dress and pressed her body along his. She wrapped her fingers around his cock, stroking and teasing him.

"You feel so good," he gasped. "Lean back and relax." He ran his hand along her wet slit. His breath tickled her flushed skin. She sucked in a sharp breath. Tucker nudged her legs apart. He used two fingers to probe her slick, wet opening. Her muscles tightened around him.

"You’re so pretty and wet." He lowered his lips to tease her with his mouth. He licked and probed her until she found release.

Megan shuddered and gripped his shoulders.

"Yes, baby," he coaxed. "Go with it."

She shivered at his words and the orgasm that overtook her.

"I want to be inside you," he said.

She nodded. "I want that, too. Right now."

Tucker started slowly, but quickly began to thrust into her as his climax built. They came together in a simultaneous orgasm. He collapsed on top of her and sighed. His sandy hair, damped with sweat, hung over his forehead.

"I love you." He lowered his lips to hers. "God, I love you."

"I love you, too." She wrapped her arms around his neck. They stayed tangled up in each other for a few moments longer, until he covered her with his dress shirt and slid on his khakis. Sated, she kissed his neck and snuggled up in the crook of his arm before falling asleep.

As much as she loved him, Megan knew they would part. The day had been too magical to last forever. She sighed, brushed a rogue tear away, and continued to walk away from him. Still, she couldn’t deny that she still had a torch for Tucker.

What the Wednesday? Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

Ok, I've kept my WtW? posts a little quiet. I don't know if they do any good or if I'm talking to myself. Oh well.

This week I wanted to touch on something that's near to me and a pet peeve.

I totally get that you want to write a review. Why? You want to share your feelings about what you read. That's great. You might not like it, you might love it, but you want to share.

Kudos.

What I have a problem with is this: if you can't say something nice, even if you hated it, then don't say something at all.

I'm not saying you CAN'T write a review. Heavens no. I'm saying BE CONSTRUCTIVE.

Seriously.

There are many times when you won't like a book, microwave, television show, CD...etc. Things won't always be up to your version of par. They may be too low or may exceed. Who knows.

If you say something like, this was too short and I don't know why I paid so much for it, my first thought to you is, didn't you do some research first? Most sites, stores, etc. will tell you about the product, be it a short story, a low grade microwave or a new innovation in fridges. Go to the site, check out the vital stats.
But don't hate on something because it's short or because it was junk.

Tell the manufacturer or the author or the company WHY you didn't like it.

"The cord on the fridge is short. You might want to measure the length of the fridge placement to the outlet first." OR "The ice machine is loud. Only a little insulation around it. A little more and this would be a great machine."

What about: "This is a short story, no doubt. At 34 pages, I knew I wasn't going to get something in-depth, but if you want a taste of the author's work, this is something to get." OR "This book has lots and I mean lots of sex. If you're looking for something to spice up the night, this would be perfect. If you're looking for something more inspirational, you might want to skip it."

Gets the point across and makes YOU the reviewer look like less of a fool.

Here's a great example. I went shopping for a new laptop. I looked at lots of laptops, lots of sites pertaining to laptops, and LOTS of reviews. Now, the funny part is this: if you go hunting for a laptop, there are quite a few to choose from. If you go to say Best Buy and look at them, you can see which have a matte finish, shiny finish, removable top, extra number pad, etc. For the laptop I ended up getting, there were reviews like this (and I am not kidding)

"Shows fingerprints really well. Not aesthetic. 1 star of 4"

Um...ok, so I know there will be fingerprints. Fine. But...does it work well? Enough memory? Does it get hot fast and need a cooling pad? Battery life sufficient?

That wasn't touched on. Nope. All I saw was that there was lots of fingerprints, the person had sour grapes and they wrote a review reflecting that.

I probably sound like a broken record, but I look at it like this: no one wants to hear bad things, but we all have to here and there. No one wants to have their work rejected, shunned or labeled as insufficient. But that doesn't really give you the right in this day and age of immediate feedback to be mean or hurtful. You're not going to attract flies with vinegary words and you won't endear yourself to anyone with meanness. You won't.

I could've been really nasty in this post and still gotten my point across. I didn't. Why? I'm trying to show that if you're positive in your need to be negative, the author, company, manufacturer, etc. can learn and GROW from it.

Just think about it.

“Whatever, brat. Are you here to see Lucien?” His smile widened. “Or have you finally found the nerve to talk to Zac?”

“Shut up.” The response sounded one hell of a lot better than, I want to jump his bones and ride to Arizona. Damn it. “Luc wanted pictures taken after the gig. I’m here to photograph, not hurl myself at anyone.” Shit. That sounded goofy, especially since she didn’t have her camera in plain sight. The thought crossed her mind -- had she remembered it at all?

“Uh-huh.” He twisted the knob and allowed her into the inner sanctum -- the backstage area. “Next time, keep the camera around your neck for credibility.”

Although Atria considered giving her brother the middle finger, she refrained and shivered. She’d been backstage at the Steelyards plenty of times. Luc and his band, Glow, played lots of places, plenty of them creepier than the former factory warehouse. Why the hell did the massive room scare her? One name came to mind. Zac.

Damn.

She plopped down onto a nearby folding chair and closed her eyes. Zacchaeus “Iceman” Frost. Goofy name for a hot man. Hot? Okay, so the guy was handsome in a brooding, six-foot-five manner. She licked her lips as a clear image of Zac came together in her mind. Muscles just where a woman wanted to lick. Hardly a stitch of hair on him and a just one tattoo on his back -- a spider web or medieval design… she wasn’t sure and didn’t care. And those eyes, the pristine blue of the North Atlantic. Heat zipped through her veins. Was he packing? The bulge in the front of his leathers hinted at more than enough to please. Need tingled in her pussy, and Atria crossed her legs to stave off the sensations.

“I want you, Attie.” His sensual lips curled into a smile. “Now.”

Her breath came in labored puffs as she opened to him. Just to feel his callused hands on her body, tweaking her nipples, drawing out her fire and scorching them through and through.

“What are you doing?”

Fllirty Friday ~ A Video

I'm in the midst of some pretty heavy edits, so I thought I'd share a vid today of my all time favorite song. And yes, when I was about 7 I thought I was going to marry Billy Joel. I didn't, but that's ok. Enjoy!

Care Package ~ The Tour ~ Here Today!!

I have to say I am thrilled to have one of my favorite authors here today, Jaxx Steele. I love his books and devour them as soon as I know they are out. Well, he's here and answering questions. You should comment. Why? Because you can win a gift pack! I'm commenting. But also, I'm ready to get the interview started. Hi Jaxx! What was your favorite scene to write in Care Package?

I would have to be when Private Styles went to see Sergeant Roman when he thought Roman was sending him away. Styles went from behaving like a model soldier to jilted lover and challenged Roman to send him away face to face instead of on paper. He couldn’t do it.

What was the inspiration behind Care Package?

When President Obama signed the repeal for the DADT I started out writing the story as what life would be like in its wake, but reality kicked in and I ended up with Care Package.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve done in the name of research?

I write under a pseudo as well as Jaxx Steele and I had to go to a strip club. I can appreciate the beauty of women, but they are not my cup of tea so I pretended to be a married man. I paid the girls for their time as I asked the questions I needed and asked this guy at the next table if I could borrow his lap for the lap dances I needed to observe. LOL

What do you consider as the most frustrating side of becoming a published author and what has been the most rewarding?

There is nothing more rewarding then getting that email saying that a house loved your story and they want to publish it. The elation fades into frustration when your book doesn’t sell at said house because you find out later that although it is a good story people don’t support that particular genre there.
What accent inspires you to do naughty things?

LOL I learned how to speak French because just hearing it gets me hot! I figured I couldn’t be the only one. J

Name something readers would be surprised to learn about you?

I am Dominican and African American and I have a twin sister.

If you could ask the readers one question what would it be?

What kind of story would you like to read?

What’s your writing process like?

I don’t have a process that in stone. I write what the characters tell me and when they tell me.

What can readers expect next from you?

I am in the process of finishing a cowboy story from my WIP list, Part of the Posse.

I love creating new worlds! The worst is keeping all the worlds straight. LOL

What is your method of breaking through writer’s block?

When the characters stop talking to me I do something physical like play pool or go out dancing.

What fuels you as an author to continue to write?

I listen to music. R&B love songs or smooth jazz instrumentals usually serenade my mind and I usually can write again.

Can you tell us a bit about what book(s) you have coming out next and what you’re working on now?

I have a Hosting for the Holidays series coming, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Fourth of July as well as a pirate story, Plunderer’s Pride coming from Muse it Hot. In the works, Part of the Posse (cowboy), Double Sacrifice (fantasy) and Enforcing Law (BDSM). All will be completed and sent out for submission for 2012 release.

When you get a chance to read, what books do you love to read?

I love historical and sci-fi romances.

What bores you as a reader?

Hmm, I don’t think I have been bored as a reader.

What is your favorite feature on a person?

The lips, mmm.

What is your favorite time of day?

Late morning.

What music gets you dancing?

Salsa!

Aliens have landed on the planet. What are the three things you would tell them that are great about this planet?

We have the 7 Wonders of the World, beautiful islands in the Caribbean and they must try chocolate!

You have been locked in a mall and told you can get anything you want and when they open in the morning you won’t have to pay a single cent. What stores would you hit? Better question how would you haul away all your loot?

I would empty Abercrombie and Fitch, Brookstones and if I didn’t take something out of Victoria Secrets for my sister I wouldn’t get out the all at all. LOL To get them out I would load the paddy wagon that sits outside the mall on the weekend. I do live in Indianapolis, you know. *grin*

If you could share one major writing tip, to help other writers in their quest for publication, what would it be?

Read other peoples stuff to see what is acceptable, but find your own style and stay true to it.

If you could write in any other genre what would it be, and why?

I have written and had stories accepted in several genres contemporary, BDSM, pirate, fantasy paranormal and vampire, but I have not done sci-fi. I like the genre but I think I stay away from it so I don’t mess it up. LOL

Where can we find out more about you and your work?

I have a website where all updates on me can be found. www.jaxxsteele.com but I have other sites as well that can all be found there: a facebook fan page, a twitter, and a blogsite, www.jaxxsteele.blogspot.com

And finally, have you got a sneak peek excerpt from your current work in progress you can share with my readers and me? The hotter the better!

Absolutely! The specials: m/m, anal, bdsm

"Oh my God. You have to stop. You're going to make me come."

Jeremy continued rubbing their cocks. "I thought that was the point," he said breathlessly.

"It is, but I want to come in you, not on you."

Jeremy's hands stopped. "Will I ever get to come in you?"

Dwayne's eyes popped open. The question was so innocent and quiet that it surprised him.

"You want to fuck me?"

A moment of silence passed between them before Jeremy spoke. "Yeah, I would like to. I want you to be my first experience in everything. You would be my first in this, too. I think it would bring us even closer."

Dwayne looked down at him, contemplating his words.

"Would you mind bottoming for me… just this once?"

Dwayne had never bottomed for anyone before, but the love in Jeremy's eyes called to his heart. A small smile touched his lips. He loved this man and would give him the world if he asked. The world was something he could not give, nor did Jeremy want it, but how could he deny Jeremy something he could give? If all he wanted was his body, he would gladly give it to him. He leaned forward and took his mouth in a passionate kiss.

"Not at all, sweetheart. I gave this body to you a long time ago. You can do what you want to it."

He pulled his member from Jeremy's grip and lay beside him and Jeremy rose over him. Positioning himself between Dwayne's legs, Jeremy gripped his cock again. Dwayne closed his eyes and gave himself over to his lover's expert handling. Jeremy worked his throbbing flesh into a frenzy, sending Dwayne's delighted screams into the air. Playing with his balls, he continued his pleasurable torture.

Dwayne reached over into the nightstand and gave him a tube of lube. Jeremy squeezed a good amount onto his fingers then reached between Dwayne's cheeks. Slender fingers probed the tight ring of muscle guarding the puckered entrance. He covered his cock generously with the slick substance then guided it to the opening. After brushing the swollen head against the hole, he pushed once. His cock slipped away from its target and Jeremy readjusted for a second attempt. He groaned in frustration as he held onto his cock and pushed for a third time, sliding balls-deep into Dwayne's tight passage.

"Oh!" they said in unison.

Jeremy held his position. He bit back another moan and closed his eyes. His head hung forward. He rested his hands on Dwayne's bent knees for balance as he wavered slightly. Licking his lips, he was finally able to speak.

"Are you all right? Do you want me to pull out?"

Dwayne smiled up at his lover reassuringly. The desperation in his voice and the look in his eyes begged Dwayne to say no. He knew that feeling. The first time your dick is buried in a slick, tight ass is the most pleasurable moment of your life. When you move back and forth, you're lost to that feeling forever. He knew Jeremy couldn't have pulled out if he wanted to.

"I'm fine, baby. Do your thing."

Jeremy let out a relieved breath. The unsure look on his face was so innocent and sweet. Dwayne rotated his ass to urge him on. Jeremy moved slowly at first, barely pulling out at all, but once the feel of exquisite pleasure took hold he slid more aggressively into him. Dwayne focused on the sparkle in Jeremy's gaze. Lust, awe, desire, and love shone in Jeremy's eyes as he looked down at him. Dwayne's heart and body were filled with their connection.

Jeremy leaned forward to take Dwayne's mouth in a forceful kiss. He rolled his hips with upward thrusts. He rested his elbows beside Dwayne's head, muttering sultry words of love and gratitude against his lips, between delicate kisses. Jeremy continued to grind him in that position. His rhythm was steady, with precise, targeted moves that sent jolts of ecstasy up Dwayne's spine. Jeremy's slender body brushed against Dwayne's sensitive head with every roll and dip of his hips, pushing it against his stomach, teasing it mercilessly. He loved having Jeremy on top of him like this. The sweltering heat of his skin and sweat against his body enthralled him.

With a frustrated grunt, Jeremy pushed himself up to kneel at his ass again, shoving Dwayne's knees to his chest. Jeremy's head tilted back and he howled with sudden elation as he dug into Dwayne with new vigor. Dwayne was mesmerized at the change in his usually gentle and passive lover as he pounded into his canal with abandon. He grabbed his neglected cock. The delicious feeling was so good, he had to voice it.

"Shit! Yeah, baby. Fuck me!"

Jeremy's incoherent stuttering sounds joined Dwayne's cries. The corded muscles in his upper body dripped with sweat and his grip tightened on Dwayne's knees. The Jeremy that was working him now was one he had not encountered in their eighteen months together. He was forceful, dominant and aggressive when he was given control of their lovemaking…and by God Dwayne loved it!

"Oh fuck! Dwayne! Shit! Your ass is so tight. I'm gonna come."

Dwayne felt the same way. Reaching down, he grabbed his nuts and held them tightly as he yanked feverishly on his cock. Every muscle in his body was wound up. Every nerve danced vibrantly to life. Both of his heads throbbed relentlessly, ready to explode. Each breath came in ragged puffs as he moved closer to glory. When he finally reached his peak, the orgasm hit him with the force of a sandstorm.

"Sweet Jesus!" he exclaimed.

Bolts of electricity shot through his nervous system and his body felt as if it had caught fire. His cock erupted in volcanic proportions, shooting cum onto his stomach almost painfully. The shock was overwhelming, lifting his shoulders from the mattress, nearly folding his body in half. He rocked back and forth, screaming his joy over and over in consecutive 'ohs' for what seemed like forever. He continued to squeeze the tip of his cock until the spurting ceased and his throat was raw from his cries of ecstasy. Finally, he fell back onto the pillow, exhausted with his efforts. His lungs burned as he tried to refill them, but Dwayne didn't care. Even through his pain, he smiled. He had never felt so good in his life. Jeremy had made love to him with a skill that he hadn't known was there. It had been glorious, and he looked forward to doing it again.
So now that I've grabbed your attention...here's the blurb:

First Sergeant Dwayne Roman was asked to leave his life as a soldier. After suffering three years with regret and loneliness, he had the chance to get back what an unjust law and self-serving people took from him.

"Is there something wrong, sir?"

"I'm having a hard time starting the conversation that I must have with you, Sergeant."

Dwayne shifted in his seat. "I prefer the direct approach, sir. Perhaps you should just start at the beginning."

Commander Biggs sighed and faced him. "It's about you and your relationship with Private Styles."

Dwayne's heart rate accelerated. He could hear his blood rushing through his body. "What about it?"

"Your relationship with Private Styles. I'm going to need you to explain it, Sergeant Roman."

Dwayne's pulse raced as if he were running. The look on his commander's face was one of regret. His steady gaze looked somewhat saddened as he questioned him.

"I took Private Styles into my unit a yeah after his enlistment six years ago. I have taken him and a few others and formed a small team because they have shown extraordinary potential," he explained as calmly as he could. "He, as well as the others, has been exceptional in the fulfillment of his duties and behavior. I give them a little leeway because of that, but I hold them to a higher standard for the same reason. I don't treat Private Styles any differently than I do the others in his elite group."

The senior officer nodded and walked to his desk. He picked up an envelope and took it to Dwayne.

"This was given to me earlier today."

The commander sat at the edge of his desk and waited. Dwayne's brows furrowed as he shook the contents into his hand. As he read the papers, a crushing weight surrounded his heart. Tears of fury and pain stung his eyes, but he held them off. He flipped through the pages, knowing what was on them. The last page confirmed his fears. The thumping in his chest had reached heart-attack strength. His tie felt like a tourniquet around his neck, restricting his breathing. Suddenly he felt dizzy. He leaned forward on his knees holding his head.

I have been told by many female friends that I am the perfect man that women are looking for... if only I sought them and not men. After thinking about that statement for a while I came to like it and have taken it as my own. My writings are a combination of some things that I have learned over the years, good and bad, mixed up with a lot of imagination. I can only hope that you like what you read.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, but I escaped and I now live in Indiana. My dream is to buy a house near the beach and write all day and make enough money to live off of. I spend most of my time working a nine to five and traveling, when I can, to new and wondrous places that I can incorporate in my stories (or that will at least spark ideas for me). I do have love in my life thanks to my life partner, Hou, and our cat, Judo, who graciously lets us live with him in his house. So, all in all, I have a full and happy
life.

Jaxx Steele Stops By Tomorrow!

Jaxx Steele comes by tomorrow with his new book, Care Package. Want to know more? Sure you do. Want to win prizes? I sure do. Here's what you could win: a promotional t-shirt, ink pen and key chain to one randomly drawn commenter!

Here's the blurb for Care Package as a teaser for tomorrow:
First Sergeant Dwayne Roman was asked to leave his life as a soldier. After suffering three years with regret and loneliness, he had the chance to get back what an unjust law and self-serving people took from him.

Want an Excerpt of Care Package? Here ya go!

"It is my duty as your commanding officer to--"

"No!"

Roman's mouth snapped shut. The passion in the other man's outburst stopped him in his tracks. The pain his words inflicted was evident on his face. That had not been his intention. All he wanted to do was make sure that they had a future where they were, and some sacrifices had to be made to ensure that.

"Private, you are dangerously close to being insubordinate with your tone."

Styles held the bridge of his nose as he took several deep breaths and blinked away obvious tears. Leaning forward, holding the chair for balance, his gaze was intense and his words were slow and deliberate.

"I want you to tell me that you don't want me. That you think it is best for us to be apart. Give me the order to leave you. I want to hear it from your lips, not read it off a piece of paper, and I will go and never bother you again," he finished, pointing at the door.

Roman left his chair as the request ran through his mind. Styles was obviously distraught over his decision. The look he landed on him seared his soul. Roman had to turn away from it. His sense of duty rose within him, in battle with what his heart felt. Private Styles' suggestion was exactly what he should do. He was a seasoned soldier in the United States Army. Protocol dictated nothing less, and so did the law of the land.

Roman turned around. Styles stood waiting for his response. He was young, too young to have so much passion for Roman. His mouth was parted and his bottom lip quivered slightly. For more nights than he could count, Roman had stroked his cock thinking about that very mouth bringing him to completion instead of his hand. The brilliant blue eyes that stared back at him haunted his dreams nightly. Now they sparkled with distress and unshed tears. Seeing the anguish there was like a knife in his heart. He just wanted to ease Styles' pain. Knowing that he was the cause of that hurt was his undoing. He quickly closed the distance between them and slipped his hand behind his subordinate's head.

"God help me, but I cannot give that order," he said, then fused their mouths together.

Treble Anthology Out TODAY!!!

I'm really excited about this. My first anthology story is out today in the Treble Anthology from Total-E-Bound. Want to know more?

Three is their magic number. Now they’ve got to decide if the magic is worth saving.
Razrs Edge used to pack stadiums, fuelled by the inner turmoil and passion of the three founding members. Now that the threesome has parted ways, the lights aren’t as bright and the cheers of the crowds not as loud.

It’s time to bring the magic back.

Parkur has never been convinced the split was for good. They were meant to be three. But can he write the music to convince Juniper and Jacoby to give him a second chance?
Juniper and Jacoby want the triad intact. Is the love they shared as three enough to erase the destruction in their collective past?

Reader Advisory: This book contains hot manlove and ménage action, a little spanking, some toy play, and some bondage...oh yes...

Out today! You should get yourself a copy. It's totally worth. I guarantee.

Somewhere I Belong

Like it? I sure do!!! The cover for Somewhere I Belong is so cool. Here's the blurb:

Sullavan Tanner walked away from Jarvis, Ohio, afraid to give his heart to the woman in his heart. He lived the rock and roll lifestyle, but never quite made it to the big time. Fifteen years later, he’s back and ready to claim what’s his—if she’ll accept his help.

Marley Lockwood’s done asking for help. The family farm is more than she can handle, but if she can survive a cancer scare, the loss of her parents, the abandonment by her first love, and a messy divorce, she can handle anything.

Until Sully shows up.

Although she’s not interested in rekindling the love affair, she’s not above accepting Sully’s hands on the farm. What’s the worst that could happen? They get the farm out of the red and into the black? That’s her plan. They actually fall in love? The past says it won’t work, so she’s not hedging her bets.

Too bad Sully’s not giving up this time.

Coming soon from Liquid Silver Books!!!

I wrote a short piece over on Hitting the Hotspot about my September 11th memory.

So instead of telling it again, I'll share a couple videos that I love from the Concert for New York.

Friday Flirts!

I got a fantastic cover this week for Somewhere I Belong, out soon from Liquid Silver Books. I'm stoked because I think the cover says exactly what I wanted to convey about the story.

Cool, eh? I'm happy.

I also sold my Greek historical to Total-E-Bound. This book isn't a beacon that I'm going to change to writing historicals. I have an idea for the brother in the story, but this is a chance to try my hand at something new. And yes, I did a LOT of research. What's the title? Love Remembers.

I also contracted a story for the Heart Attack Collection at Total-E-Bound. A while back, like 5 years ago, and yes, Ang, it's what you critted so many times, I wrote a story about a stripper. The original story was called No Strings, but that's been used a LOT. So I reworked the story and gave it a shiny new title, When You're With Me (out in March). But there's a story that happens prior to it that when I was asked to participate in the HA Collection, I had to write. So the HA Collection novella, is entitled, Over My Head and it comes out in February.

So yeah, lots of Snoopy dancing. I'm working on a couple other WIPs and am trying to get the next racing story written. The goal is to get Gypsy and Felicity's stories (the vampire novella and the ghost novella) done so they can possibly come out around Halloween of '12. Fingers crossed.

Back on Monday and This Week...Jaxx Steele stops by to talk about his new work, Care Package. Come on back for that!

Thank You Thursday ~ Peer Review ~ Bad Dawg

I wanted to share another book I just loved. It's short, sweet, and totally worth reading again and again and again.

Bad Dawg by Lena Austin
Changeling Press Paranormal, Contemporary, M/M, anal sex Short Story

One OTR trucker. One leather-clad biker. One very special town... Finding himself stranded in the middle of Nowhere, Kansas, Loren comes face to face with his favorite fantasy. Hard to say which turns him on more, the '69 Shovelhead, or Bad Dawg -- the bronze god of a biker in the seat.

But can there be any future for men whose livelihoods pull them in opposite directions? And what's with all the Prairie Dawgs all over the place?

Now I'll start this review with this: I love short stories. Love them. Throw in a furry critter and I'm golden. This book had both.

Ms. Austin's story has lots of heart, lots of heat and a biker. How cool is that? I know truckers, so the character of Loren was easy to relate to. He's realistic and loveable, even with his idiosyncrasies. Then there's Bad Dawg himself. The guy is rough. He's a biker, he's supposed to be. But there's something about it--it's almost cuddly and I couldn't not read more. I loved him.

The idea of a prairie dog shifter intrigued me. Pairing a burly biker with a quiet trucker was something I didn't know how Ms. Austin would pull off, but she did and with gusto. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next and when I found out there was more to the story...I was sold!

Grab a copy of this short story for your reader and keep it handy for a chilly night. It's sure to warm you up!

Monica Marlow's Here TODAY!

I'm so excited because Monica Marlowe is here today, talking about her book, Finding Felicity!. You'll want to read on and comment. Why? She's giving away a $25 GC to Amazon, that's why. I'm psyched. Click the cover to buy and the banners to continue following her tour. Thanks to Goddess Fish for setting up the tour. But let's get going with the interview!! What was your favorite scene to write in Finding Felicity?

The scene when Madeline first meets Anthony. They are in a restaurant in Rome and their meeting comes as a complete surprise to Madeline, catching her off her usual guard.

What was the inspiration behind Finding Felicity?

I spent a weekend once at a monastery in Santa Barbara. One monk in particular surprised me by wearing jeans and a black polo shirt, and I’m not embarrassed to say that he was handsome! When I started thinking about a character like Madeline, the successful CEO of a lingerie company, I wondered what would happen if she found herself staying at a monastery. The story took off from there.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve done in the name of research?

The research for this book was really rather mundane; I flushed out the details online. I had drawn on past experiences instead of doing research in real life – if was already done!

What do you consider as the most frustrating side of becoming a published author and what has been the most rewarding?

The most frustrating part is the rejection letters; the whole process takes so long! The most rewarding is hearing from readers that they loved the book, that it touched them. I’m surprised at how happy it makes me to make people cry.

What accent inspires you to do naughty things?

Australian … omigosh.

Name something readers would be surprised to learn about you?

That I’ve never married and have no wish to be married. I like living alone!

If you could ask the readers one question what would it be?

What would it take for you to try a new genre?

What’s your writing process like?

When I have a clear goal, I’m very disciplined. I set the alarm early, and make a commitment to write for the length of my favorite CD to write to, the soundtrack to Shakespeare in Love. Usually, I find that I can keep writing once the CD is over.
What can readers expect next from you?

My next book is a memoir, The Gift Horse. I acquired my first horse in my forties and that first year was filled with surprises, so I’m writing to tell the tale.

What is the best thing about being a writer? The worst?

I love that I can imagine being so many different things … live so many lives through my writing. The worst is worrying about my work going unread.

What is your method of breaking through writer’s block?

I will read. I have a theory that everything in life has its “flip side”, the other side of the coin. Selling is the flip side of buying. Reading is the flip side of writing. A good story helps get my creativity flowing again.

What fuels you as an author to continue to write?

My list of 17 titles to finish!

Can you tell us a bit about what book(s) you have coming out next and what you’re working on now?

Right now, I don’t have any new releases in the pipeline, so I’m working on the manuscript for The Gift Horse.

When you get a chance to read, what books do you love to read?

I devour books about personal growth and development. Marianne Williamson and Dr. Wayne Dyer are two of my favorites. I love fiction, too. Kristin Hannah and Elizabeth Berg are two authors who inspired me to try my hand at writing.

What bores you as a reader?

Characters that I can’t relate with at all. If I can’t emotionally engage, I’m just not interested.

What is your favorite feature on a person?

Their eyes, definitely.

What is your favorite time of day?

Twilight – I just love the golden cast of light as the sun sets!

What music gets you dancing?

Oh dear. Disco!

Aliens have landed on the planet. What are the three things you would tell them that are great about this planet?

Sushi. Niagara Falls. The 17-mile drive in California … breathtaking!

You have been locked in a mall and told you can get anything you want and when they open in the morning you won’t have to pay a single cent. What stores would you hit? Better question how would you haul away all your loot?

I would raid clothing stores for a whole new wardrobe; things have gotten a little dated, I’m afraid. I’d also scoop up some children’s clothes to donate. And I’d have to stop at pet store and pick up things for dogs and cats to donate to a shelter or rescue. There’s really not a lot I’d need! I have a friend with a pick-up truck and a horse trailer … perfect for hauling loot!

If you could share one major writing tip, to help other writers in their quest for publication, what would it be?

Write every single day without exception. Do as I say, not as I do J

If you could write in any other genre what would it be, and why?

I would spiritual books because I truly believe that our connection to the divine is what can change the world and make it better.

Where can we find out more about you and your work?

www.monicamarlowe.blogspot.com

And finally, have you got a sneak peek excerpt from your current work in progress you can share with my readers and me? The hotter the better!

Well … my next book is a memoir about me and my horse. So while it’s a love story, there’s nothing steamy to share!

Madeline O'Connor was happy. Or was she? When she learns that her estranged sister is gravely ill, she leaves behind her life in Manhattan to be at her sister's side in Italy. There, she discovers an ancient Benedictine monastery that accommodates travelers, and she decides to stay there, among the monks. Everything in her life turns upside down when she falls for Brother Anthony Lamberti, a soft-spoken Italian completely different from the men she knows in New York.

Together Madeline and Anthony find love for the first time, and learn that life and love always find a way. Loving Anthony creates a new life for Madeline. A new life she would never have imagined and yet is perfect for her in every way.

Have an excerpt! Today he wore a crisp white shirt that set off his olive complexion. Slim fitting jeans. His eyes seemed darker. Pools of sweet dark chocolate. Bitter - sweet dark chocolate.

His eyes widened at the sight of her.

“Oh! Hello.” Madeline was at a loss for words. Her cheeks burned at the memory of their first meeting.

“Buon giorno.” He pursed his lips, trying to conceal amusement at her obvious embarrassment.

“Well, this is quite a coincidence, isn't it?” Madeline was beginning to recover. Maybe staying at the monastery was not such a bad idea after all. Casually her eyes glanced at his left hand. No wedding ring. Perhaps there was a God.

Monday Moans

So I wanted to write something really cool. Wendi asked me if I wanted to stop by to blog. And what happened? I froze! Yes. It sucks. I hate not knowing what to say. I mean, that's what I do for a living. I talk! (groaning)

Ping! (that's the light over my head) I should probably tell you who the heck I am. Might be helpful. (embarrassed grin)

I'm Janine Walters. I'm the public relations gal you talk to when you call Blitz Racing. I handle the publicity for the team and the drivers. Want to book a driver for a personal appearance? That's me. Want to schedule a special walk-through at the facility? Yep, you're going to talk to me.

Who writes the speeches the drivers make when they are hired? Me. Sound bites for the television stations? Me, again.

Sigh. Yeah, I've got a great job.

Now I suppose you want to know why I am blogging and complaining about not having anything to say. It's like this....I've got the best job with my best friend. I love being where I am. Except...I'm lonely. Yeah, Megan's my BFF. She's fantastic. But she's got Tucker. Yanno? I've got...me.

Well, no. I had someone but he's so... Eric Trask isn't the Ice Man of pit road for nothing. He's so busy hiding behind his persona and keeping people out. It sucks. The only one other than Tucker who even gets close is Jellyroll. I rate below a DOG!

One of these days I'll get him to come around. That's the grand plan anyway. Well, happy reading, happy racing and kiss a driver. It's fun.

Flirty Friday!!

Ok, so I totally sucketh (yes, that's a word and it's mine but I might share...MIGHT...no promises). I kinda got behind on my post for today. Normally I'd have a post up by now, but I gotta tell ya, my allergies - which i really hate - have been off the chart bad. I am not a cash in at 8:30 kinda girl. I'm not. But last night? I did. Blech.

So what's on the calendar?

Glad you asked!

The Treble Anthology comes out in less than a couple weeks from Total-E-Bound. Can't wait.

My story, Savin' Me, is about three musicians who prove that three really is a magic number. I happened to find out that this book will come out in print, so that's totally cool, too. Want the blurb? Here ya go:

Yeah, I like a little hinky kinky in my stories.

My friend who is near and dear to my heart, Megan Slayer, has her very first release in September, as well. Her short story with Changeling Press, Fire Woman, comes out September 23rd. Yeah, I'm pretty psyched about that, too.

What else is coming up? Well....I turned in a couple of subs. Was asked to write a sub. I did. Turned it in. Dunno how it will go or such, but hey, I got it in. I'm planning to work hard on about three different stories, but hey, it's getting near Chase Season, so...I dunno how productive I'll be until Clint Bowyer either does or doesn't get into the Chase. (Fingers crossed he does) and whether or not he sticks with Richard Childress Racing (fingers crossed really tight).

Okay, heading out to go write and watch HotLanta. Yes, Atlanta. There are trucks on. "Nuff said.

Thank You Thursday ~ Cover Mention at Can't Resist Covers

I've been up to my eyeballs in getting the youngling ready for school. I mentioned yesterday that part of getting him ready is getting the house clean. Sometimes I swear I'll never be done. The mountain of laundry is down to a little mole hill, but I swear, it really doesn't end. Since I'm here, I thought I'd share something cool I'd found reading my Google alerts. Normally I glance through them and don't pay a lot of attention. This caught my eye. I love my cover art and feel I've been blessed with what I have. Apparently someone else feels the same. Hallie Chandler mentioned me on her blog as a "Can't Resist Cover" for Please Remember Me. Made my day. I love that cover. It looks really cool in print form, too. Check out her comments and blog!
