EXCERPT:
I never met a man whose presence alone made me lose all train of thought. Mute. Total brain shut down because of raging hormonal takeover. He looked like a young Jude Law with those lips, that jaw, and mischievous green eyes… Someone jostled me from behind as the subway train jerked into motion again, pressing me even tighter against the hotness who’d stolen my tongue. I stared up -- at least a foot -- at his gorgeous face. A model’s face. Absolute perfection. His lips quirked. Oh God… Forget a panty-melting smile. We’re talking lethal, instantly burst into flames, incinerating crooked smirk. “Hey.” His low, sexy voice with just a hint of southern twang quivered through my belly. I nearly swooned and locked my knees to keep upright. My arms in front of me, cell phone in hand, pressed against his rock-hard pecs encased in a gray-green Henley. Still smiling, his eyes twinkling with an “I know what I do to you” knowing glint, he plucked my phone from my fingers. I didn’t have a screen lock. He swiped and tapped while I stared at his mouth, the din of voices and rush of the metal on metal train a din in my ears. He licked his lower lip. Sucked that plump temptation between his teeth. Good God Almighty. He pulled a ringing cell from his back pocket, smirked at me again, swiped, and tucked it back while sliding mine once more between my fingers that still rested on his chest. “Charles Center Station,” a voice squawked over the train’s speaker. The car jerked again, and his palms burned through my scrubs at my waist as he steadied me. One squeeze on my left hip bone, and the sexy mystery man moved off with the crowd exiting the swished-open doors. For the first time in five years, I’d gotten on a different car of the Metro. Not the first one in line like always. No. I’d been late because of fighting with Kyle and hopped through the closest open train door. I craned my neck to watch the mystery man through the hazy window. He disappeared into the throng of the early morning madness of people vying for the escalator to take them up into Baltimore. A step took me closer to the window. Our gazes collided as he glided upward, and awareness of my need swept through me. Desire like I’d never known. He disappeared from sight. The breath fled from my lungs, and I deflated. Holy shit… I glanced down at my phone, double tapped with a shaking finger, and swiped to bring the screen up. Devon Smith. He’d added his contact info. He’d also called his phone from mine so he’d have my number. I shouldn’t have been giddy, dumbstruck like a teenage girl. I was practically engaged for Christ’s sake, to a man as vanilla as the bean. As boring and safe as I could find. Kyle had left our townhouse in Owings Mills that morning at the same time I had. Travel mugs of coffee in our hands, a peck on the cheek in an attempt at normalcy after our fight, going different directions for most of the day. Devon… I glanced at his name on my cell’s screen again and groaned. “Next stop… Johns Hopkins Hospital,” the squawker sounded again. And a long ass day sucking dark red blood into vials. Shaking my head, I drew a deep breath trying to fortify myself and bring my wayward hormones back in line with the calm existence I’d chosen to keep myself out of trouble. My college years hadn’t gone so well, partying with my bestie, underage drinking. Typical “finding yourself” youngster stuff, but my choices had caused serious damage. I stepped off the train and paused as people pushed past me. Jaw clenched, trying to rein in my mind, I shot off a text to my long-time, live-in boyfriend. Sorry about this morning. Looking forward to tonight’s party. A little heart-eyed emoji accompanied my words because it would help soothe things over -- not because of any lovey-dovey bubbles in my belly -- and I turned my thoughts on the sequined, blue dress I’d gotten for his company’s dinner that night. A twenty-five year celebration of their existence -- and an excuse to get dolled up, something Kyle and I never did. Then again, we never did anything out of the norm. I’d grown antsy the previous couple of months, especially since Kyle dealt with major stress at work and oftentimes got short with me for no reason whatsoever, just like what had happened that morning. But we’d been together for so long. We’d settled into a comfortable relationship, one that wasn’t all passion and rainbows, but hey… at least we had each other. I forced a smile onto my face and pushed into the office. Chatting with co-workers and patients who needed to have blood drawn and sent to the lab needed to be my focus. A ho-hum job, one I didn’t mind, one that paid my half of the bills. Telling myself that Devon Smith had simply been a blip on my life’s radar sounded like a lie to my own inner ear. © Lynn Burke 2018

To Live and Love by LM Spangler #contemporary #romance #LMSpangler

ToLiveAndLove_Small

To Live and Love by LM Spangler

Can he show her the world like she's never seen it before?
Melanie "Mel" Caldwell has everything she could want, except for one thing—a life outside her house. An incident that occurred when she was four years old left her an agoraphobic—a prisoner within the sanctuary of her home. Besides her sister, she finds companionship in the form of handsome delivery man Justin Eberley.

The woman of Justin's dreams won't even leave her house, but that does little to tamper his feelings toward her. He finds himself wanting to deliver more and more packages to her house and help her break down the walls she's built around herself. When she invites him over for a home-cooked meal, he jumps at the opportunity to spend more time with her, although he's fully aware that any relationship between them will come with its own unique set of challenges.

One night will change both of their lives. Will they find love in the first blooms of spring, or will they let their love slip away?

Now for an Excerpt:
“She’s not well.”
“What do you mean? Does she have cancer or something?”
“No. Agoraphobia.”
“Agora-what? Can you say that in plain English?”
Sam laughed. “She fears leaving her home. Mel hasn’t been out of the house in many, many years. You’ll be delivering a lot of packages to her as I believe she shops exclusively online.”
“Really? I can’t imagine never leaving my house. How does one survive a life like that?” Justin removed his hat and rubbed a hand over his buzz cut hair. “It shouldn’t be humanly possible.”
“Trust me, it is. She’s a remarkable woman though considering. Mel is lively and quick to laugh or smile. You wouldn’t think she was afflicted with such a serious problem. Just don’t ask Mel to leave her front porch, because it’ll never happen.”
Justin shook his head sadly, completely unable to fathom how anyone could live like that. Sure, he hung around his apartment a lot, but he also went out for drinks with his buddies whenever the opportunity arose, went to work every day, and lived his life. He couldn’t imagine what this woman did as living.
“Buck up, Eberley. She’s a good woman. You’ll like her,” Sam said.
“Sure I will.” Justin didn’t bother to hide the sarcasm in his voice. How could he like a woman who was too afraid of the outside world to even leave her house? In his opinion, that was the cowardly way to do things.
Sam’s deep laughter boomed around the delivery truck. “You’d be surprised. That’s all I’m going to say.”
“Ooookaaay,” Justin replied skeptically. Seeing is believing.
Five minutes later Justin believed it. Before him, standing at her front door, was a stunningly beautiful woman. Though short in stature, she had the most seductive curves. And that was just the body. Mel’s face was that of an angel. Smooth, creamy skin beckoned to be stroked by a loving fingertip. Full lips bid to be kissed. Beguiling green eyes lured him into their liquid depths.
She was the complete package.
“Hi, Sam,” Mel said in a voice so seductive it rivaled that of a siren who lured sailors to an untimely end. “Is this your replacement?”
Mel smiled and Justin’s knees weakened. It took a Herculean effort for them to support his weight.
“Yes, it is. Mel, this is Justin Eberley,” Sam said.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” She offered her hand.
Justin took the much smaller hand in his. “The pleasure’s all mine, ma’am.”
“Please, call me Mel. Would you care to step in for a drink?”
“Don’t have time. Need to get the truck back to the distribution center so I can show the rookie how we close out the day,” Sam said as he handed Mel her package.
She accepted the parcel and laid it on the floor. “Thanks, Sam. I’m going to miss you, you old coot.”
Sam opened his arms. Mel stepped into the embrace, and Justin suddenly wished he were in Sam’s position. He wondered how she would feel in his arms. The woman elicited such a primal response in him.
Sam released her. “I’m going to miss you too. The newbie will take good care of you and your deliveries.”
“I’m sure he will. You guys drive safe.”
“Have a good day, Mel. It was a pleasure to meet you, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing each other again,” Justin stated with a friendly tip of his hat.
He and Sam ambled to the truck. When inside, Justin unleashed a whistle. “She is gorgeous.”
Sam’s laughter once again echoed in the small confines of the truck. “Told you.”
“I’m glad that one’s single.”
“If you pursue her, then you have to tread carefully. She’s damaged. Remember, Mel won’t leave the house.”
I bet I can get her to come out of her shell.

EXCERPT:
Meg’s gaze dropped to Jack’s full lips. “Maybe just one kiss,” she heard herself say.
He captured her lips without hesitation, sending a rush of heat and goosebumps skittering across her skin. His soft lips swept across hers as his hand slipped up her back and grabbed hold of her hair, angling her head toward him.
The brush of his tongue along her lips sent a spasm through her pussy, and a moan rose to her throat.
Trevor leaned into her, his open-mouth kisses dampening her neck as Jack continued his languid assault on her mouth. Tasting. Licking.
One man’s hand in her hair, the other’s on her waist, one on each thigh, rubbing, slowing inching upward.
Meg tore her lips from Jacks, heaving for breath, eyelids clenched shut.
One kiss, she’d said. She hadn’t expected a long, drawn-out kiss that would make her body quake with need.
“Come over to our cabin with us,” Trevor said, his low voice rumbling in her ear, his thumb drawing circles mid-thigh on her bare skin. “Check off your number one bucket list item.”
Jack nibbled along her jaw to her other ear. A shiver slid down to her toes as he squeezed her other thigh. “I…I c-can’t.”
“Does the thought of Trevor and I together turn you off?” Jack asked, nibbling her earlobe.
A huff of laughter flew past Meg’s lips as the two men continued their assault on her senses. “I saw you kissing on your back patio the other night.” The words escaped her parted lips, unintended.
Trevor nipped her skin in the hollow beneath her ear. “How did that make you feel?”
“Aroused,” she whispered, eyes still shut tight. They pulled answers from her easier than…
“I was thinking about you while fucking Jack.”
A rush of moisture soaked her panties at Trevor’s low, rumbled confession against the hollow beneath her ear. “I-I heard you.”
“Did you touch yourself?” Jack asked against the corner of her mouth, his sweet breath fanning her lips.
Meg swallowed. “Yes.”
“Did you come?”
“Yes,” she whispered.
Both men groaned.
“Come to our cabin with us,” Jack said. “Please.”
Meg thought she’d known what temptation was, but the war raging between her body and mind put a whole new meaning to the word.

Roosters ~ Ride 'em Cowboy by Anne Kane

Ride ‘em Cowboy!
By Anne Kane
Genres: Contemporary, romance, MC romance

Fiona really wasn’t in the market for a lover or a partner or some guy to give her a sappy sweet happily ever after. Been there, done that, got the scars to prove it. She just wanted a nice one-night stand. She planned to be long gone come breakfast time.

When she saw that gorgeous cowboy ride up on his Harley, she figured it was her lucky day. Bikers don’t do forever, right? Her perfect match! They could tell each other a few lies, scratch each other’s itches and then go their separate ways. The last thing she needed was to hook up with some guy she’d smack headlong into at church the next day.

Simple, right? So how did it all go so very wrong?
.

EXCERPT
The crowd over by the mechanical bull let out an extra loud whoop. She glanced back in that direction and there he was. One hand gripped the rope that circled the bull’s midsection and the other waved in the air high above his shoulder. The well-worn cowboy hat jammed firmly on top of his head was the hottest thing she’d ever seen. She could just imagine him standing in front of her, buck naked except for that hat.

Naked and ready for action.

He nodded at someone she couldn’t see, and the bull started to move.

Damn. Ride ’em, cowboy!
The man was born for this. His body moved with a smooth fluidity that made it look easy. With all the jerking and jumping that metal monster did, you’d think the rider would jump and jerk just as much, but he made it look like a dance that he’d mastered so long ago he didn’t even have to put any effort into it. His body flowed from one move to the next, power and strength visible in each change.
That sexy cowboy hat stayed on his head too, pulled down low enough to almost cover his eyes. They were dark, dark and hard. The kind o
f eyes that made one take a step back and reconsider whether or not it was a good idea to garner his attention.

She worked her way through the crowd to a position in the front row where she could see him better. And where he could see her. That was the point, after all. It was all good and well to admire the sexy bull-riding cowboy from afar but to get what she needed and wanted out of this little excursion, she needed to be closer to him. A whole lot closer. As in, right up tight against him, skin to skin, but that would have to wait until after he finished showing off his prowess on the mechanical bull.

As she moved through the crowd, she realized this wasn’t the cowboy’s first time at this particular drinking hole. The comments from the onlookers implied he came here often, possibly on a regular basis. Most importantly, at least to her, was the fact that he didn’t appear to have a steady girlfriend. If he did, no one was mentioning it and it seemed she wasn’t the only one angling to spend the night playing ride the cowboy.

She felt a familiar surge of anticipation. Nothing like a bit of rivalry to make the prize look even better. Leaning against the railing that surrounded the arena, she eyed up her competition.

A young blonde girl to her left took her hat off as the mechanical bull swung the cowboy around to face her. Letting out a loud whoop, she waved the hat in the air and flashed him with a wide-open shirt. Silly twit had tits the size of grapes, hardly enticing to a real man.

Fiona’s cowboy dude ignored the blonde, which didn’t surprise her. She was guessing this guy had been around the block a time or two and recognized jailbait when he saw it.

Fiona tossed her head back, letting her mane of dark hair bounce around her shoulders before it settled in a riotous tangle of curls down her back. The metal bull was coming around again, and she was pretty sure the guy’s time was just about up. Wasn’t there an eight-second rule or something attached to these things?

She timed it perfectly, leaning forward to give him a tantalizing glimpse of her ample bosom just as he came ’round again. She caught his gaze, letting her mouth form a surprised “oh” before she grinned saucily to let him know the peep show was intentional.

He did her one better though. Throwing his leg across the back of the bucking, bouncing pile of metal he slid to the ground amid a thunderous outbreak of applause. Not bothering to slow down, he strode over to where she stood, still leaning on the fencing. Wrapping one muscular arm around her waist he plucked her over the safety rails and proceeded to devour her mouth like a starving coyote on a drought-plagued range.

The man knew how to kiss!

Fire ignited deep in her belly and she wrapped her arms around his neck, returning his kiss with every ounce of pent-up lust and frustration she’d been harboring since her last get-laid-quick adventure. No man had ever kissed her quite like this though -- hard and fast, with an overwhelming hint of more and better things to come. He held her tight against his body, and she savored the feel of his sleekly muscled chest pressing against her. He was as solid as a rock, with wide shoulders that tapered to his waist. As for below the beltline, let’s just say she wasn’t left in any doubt about his attraction to her.

She sure hoped he used his mouth as well in the bedroom as he did in the bar. He bent her back over his arm with practiced ease, using his tongue to explore the depths of her mouth. She gave back as good as she got, wordlessly letting him know that she wanted to get to know him better. Much better.

She could hear the roar of the crowd in the background, like a muffled noise in the distance. Briefly, she wondered if maybe she was in over her head this time. The cowboy didn’t strike her as easy to manipulate, even with great sex. Then his tongue slid along the side of hers and up the inside of her cheek. At the same time, he moved one hand to caress the side of her breast.

Oh yeah. This was going to happen.

When they finally came up for air, he stood her upright and brushed the hair off her face with a surprisingly gentle touch. Leaning in close, he lowered his voice to a sexy whisper. “Can a cowboy buy a lady a drink?”

She loosened her grip on the cookie and it landed in her lap. "You're planning to get married? Yet you were kissing me in front of everyone only moments ago?"

"Only because you're who I plan to marry." He grinned.

She retrieved her cookie, left it on the table and returned the plate to the pantry.

"Hey," he said, "I wasn't through with those."

"Too bad." Hands firmly planted on her hips, she glared at him. "I have no intention of remarrying, and if I did, what makes you think it would be to you?"

Braxton got to his feet. "I'm crazy about you, Pris, and I think you care for me too."

"Well, you're wrong. Get out."

Moving around the table toward her, he said, "Okay, Pris. Don't get your dander up."

Relieved that he was going to leave quietly, she relaxed, but as soon as she did, he reached out and hauled her into his arms. Before she could voice a complaint, he kissed her. Again. She tensed and tried to break free.

Oh, but it felt so good. While cursing herself for not fighting harder, she kissed him back. A tingling began below her abdomen and she felt flushed and hungry for something she couldn't name, except that she wanted more of what Braxton offered. Her hands slipped behind his head and she pressed closer, noticing he was ready for her.

"Lord, but I could go on kissing you forever," he murmured.

"Shut up and just do it," she whispered back.

She felt him smile against her lips, but not for long. He slid his tongue along the seam of her lips until she opened to him, then slipped it inside. He tasted like oatmeal and coffee. Sweet, heady, and strong.

He pressed his aroused body closer to her, and she couldn't help wriggling. Her heart pounded, her blood on fire.

The next thing she knew, he'd picked her up and was heading for the stairs. Priscilla knew what he planned and opened her mouth to object.

A knock came on the door. "Braxton, are you in there?" Etta hollered. "Irish and Logan have been sighted riding toward the Lucky Lady. You coming with me?"

"Aw, hell," he muttered, letting Priscilla's feet touch the floor. "I gotta go. I'm sorry, Pris, darlin'."

"It doesn't matter. What we were doing was insane anyway."

He glowered at her. "You still going to claim you don't want me?"

"I don't want to marry."

"That's fine with me. We'll just live together."

"Ha! Get out of here."

"I'm going." He stalked to the door and slammed it behind him.

Delphine: Six years ago, I did something really bad, and it chased away the guy I’ve been in lust with ever since my hormones had kicked in. I’d been a stupid teen, and I’d paid the price. But now I need help, and there’s nowhere for me to go except straight to the Dixie Reapers, and the one man who probably never wants to see me again. If Zipper won’t help me, then I’m as good as dead. I’m willing to pay any price, and I will give him anything he wants. Is it wrong that I hope, at least a little, that all this ends up with me in his bed? I’ve never stopped wanting him, and I know I never will.

Zipper: The teen girl who had turned my life upside down now wants my help. If nothing else, I owe it to her dad, legendary tattoo artist Hwan Lee, my mentor, the man who gave me a chance when no one else would. He’s really the reason I left all those years ago. I couldn’t disrespect him by claiming what I wanted. Delphine. Not to mention my ass would have ended up in jail. Now she’s here, and she says I can have anything. Naughty girl. Didn’t anyone ever tell her not to tempt the devil? Because soon, I’ll have her right where I want her -- under me and screaming my name -- and I’m never letting her go. As for the men trying to kill her, it’s only a matter of time before they breathe their last. No one hurts my woman.

NOTE: No Cliffhanger. No Cheating. Guaranteed HEA. Spanking. Sex Toys.

Delphine
I hadn’t seen Mason in so damn long, and I wasn’t certain my presence would be welcome even now. I’d had a crush on him for as long as I could remember, even when I’d just been a little girl. My daddy had always taken me to work with him, and I’d gotten to know all the guys at his shop over the years, but it had always been Mason who fascinated me. As I grew, my feelings for him changed from that of a little girl to a young woman. It was my fault he’d left, even though I’d never told anyone, and never would. If my dad had ever found out what I’d done…
I took a steadying breath as I stared at the gates of the Dixie Reapers’ compound. No one knew I was here, and I wanted to keep it that way. I was in some serious shit right now, and it wasn’t fair to drop it on Mason’s doorstep, but I didn’t know where else to go. There was no one in my life I trusted right now, not even my own family. No, especially not my own family. Some slut with three kids had convinced my dad to marry her a few years ago, and I’d been pushed to the side. I’d quickly understood how Cinderella must have felt, being given all the crap jobs around the house and shop, and getting nothing in return. At least, as long as I was under the step-monster’s roof I wasn’t getting anything. Moving out helped a bit.
Things were different now, though, and not in a good way. Before Dad had died, I’d moved out. He’d been helping me pay rent, though, so I could be a nicer area. After his death, that helped came to a screeching halt, and I’d been forced to move into a not-so-great place. I’d found out at the reading of Dad’s will that he had apparently left his shop in my care if anything ever happened to him, along with half his life insurance policy. My step-monster only received fifty thousand dollars and the house, which I’d been told had a second mortgage on it. Needless to say, the woman wasn’t happy and would stop at nothing to get her hands on my inheritance. It had taken a while for everything to get sorted out and my inheritance actually handed over to me.
I wasn’t certain if I wanted to thank my dad for trying to take care of me at the very end, or scream at him for putting me in this position. Legally, there wasn’t a damn thing that Tia could do about the shop and money. But then, she’d never been one to follow the rules. I’d noticed some questionable-looking men following me lately, and I wondered if maybe she’d hired someone to do something to me. Especially after a few unexplained accidents happened. According to my dad’s lawyer, if anything happened to me, the money and shop would go to Tia. It had been a provision in my dad’s will apparently, stating that unless I was married with children, then step-mommy-dearest would inherit if I were to die. And since I wasn’t married and didn’t have any kids to leave the money to… yeah, I was pretty much screwed. I didn’t see how that could possibly be legal in this day and age, but what the hell did I know?
The gates mocked me as I stared at them. I could see the shadow of a man standing just on the other side, likely a guard of some sort. He hadn’t called out to me, but then I hadn’t exactly gotten any closer either. I took another breath to steady my nerves and approached, putting one foot in front of the other. My fingers wrapped around the iron bars and I stared at the man on the other side. He eyed me up and down, giving me time to look him over too. He seemed to be a few years older than me. “You here to party with the club?” he asked.
“I’m here to see… Zipper.” I hated that fucking name. To me, he was Mason, would always be Mason. Or maybe it was why he had that name that I hated so much. He’d been part of the Dixie Reapers even when he’d worked for my dad. Then he’d left and opened his own shop. The only times I’d seen him since then were glimpses around town, but I’d always hidden and kept my distance, knowing he probably hated me.
“He expecting you?” the guy asked.
“No. He used to work for my dad. Please, it’s important that I see him. I’m not here to cause trouble.”
The guy snorted and made a shooing motion. “Sorry, doll, but if you aren’t expected, you’re not getting in. You’re either an old lady, or you’re here to suck cock. And since it appears neither applies to you, you can just turn around and walk away.”
“But you don’t understand…”
He pointed again toward the driveway. There was only one way I was getting inside, but I didn’t know if I had the courage to follow through. I rubbed my hands up and down my denim-clad thighs and blew out a breath.
“Then maybe I’m here to party,” I said, wishing immediately that I could call back the words.
The man’s eyebrows rose, and he opened the gate. I cautiously walked past him, a little worried he might reach out and grab me, maybe force me to suck his cock. I hadn’t ever done something like that before, and the thought of sucking off a complete stranger made my stomach bubble and flip. I hurried toward the clubhouse and raced up the wooden steps. When I reached the door, I slowly pushed it open. Music and smoke battered at my senses as I stepped inside.
My eyes went wide when I saw the mostly, and in some cases completely, naked women prancing around. A few couples were openly having sex in front of everyone, and my heart started racing in fear. What the hell had I gotten myself into? And did I really want to see Mason in this setting? I knew he wasn’t an angel by any means, but I didn’t like the thought of him being with all these women.
I caught sight of him toward the end of the bar, his Dixie Reapers leather cut looking every bit as sexy on him as I’d thought it did six years ago. I felt a tingle working its way through my body, and my nipples hardened as I got closer to him. A few people jostled me along the way, but I forged ahead, hoping like hell I hadn’t made a huge mistake...
