Monday Morning Armchair Quarterback - WEEK EIGHT

This week was a bit of a blood bath for the Bengals. They schooled the Jets. According to my friend Patricia Sargent, SCHOOLED is the word. Grin. I'm not knocking a 6-2 record. Well done Andy Dalton with those 5 touchdown passes. Well done.

Now it's time for some funny football!

But first, let me mention the Honorable Mentions...those quotes that were not quite right for last week... or came on Monday night.

“...has to be effective in the pocket...”
Well, yes. Effectiveness does help.

“...doable pumps, then fires it in the hole...”
Doable? Hmm. At least he hit the hole.

And now for those quotes this week. Some real zingers in this bunch.

“...beautiful execution and reception...”
I half expect someone to hold up score cards next.

“...forced him out...”
Did he overstay his welcome? Bad, bad boy.

“...big blue on top...”
I do like blue. Works for me.

“...they get exposed when asked to perform...”
Must be Chippendales or Thunder from Down Under.

“...trying to get a good hold up...”
I wonder how they practice that? Hey, stick 'em up and catch the ball?

And now for that Doozy of the Week:

“...He goes #2 and puts it right on Jackson...”
I had to rewind and play this one about three times before I got it all without falling over laughing. I can't believe they got away with that one on television. Or they didn't realize how bad it sounded in hindsight. Ouch, now I'm creating my own doozies! Hee hee.

Thanks for reading. Hopefully your team won and if they didn't, well, there's always next week.
Stay tuned for my picks from Week Nine!
