Come Check out The Next Best Thing Blog!

Thanks to the fantastic Victoria Blisse for inviting me to participate in 'The Next Big Thing'! Love hanging out with the Vickster, so when I was given this opportunity, I jumped!

1. What is the title of your latest book?

Miss Me Baby. It’s the follow up to Careless Whisper.

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?

I had a character in Careless Whisper that readers wanted to know more about. She didn’t really get her HEA, so in Miss Me Baby, she does. The idea came from my DH going Ghost hunting. I wondered what would happen if a ghost got a second chance. Miss Me Baby is my interpretation if what could be.

3. What genre does your book fall under?

Paranormal erotic romance

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Felicity would be someone like Kate Bosworth. Very thin, very blonde. But when she’s Lisa... hmm...maybe Scarlett Johansson with a little more meat on her bones. For John... he’d have to be someone brawny, like Eric Bana or Christian Bale.

5. What is the book blurb for your book?

Say you’ll haunt me, since I’ll never stop loving you.

Felicity Black never quite understood love. She worked her assets to get what she wanted and didn’t care who got in the way. Until she met John. He saw past her superficial self to the woman inside. Death separated her from John before she could tell him how she truly felt. Now she’s got her chance...just not in the way she expected.

John wanted Felicity to haunt him. She had been the only woman to stir not only his heart but his soul as well. But the woman claiming to be his lost love can’t be her... Felicity was dead. He has to decide whether to trust his gut or walk away from a new start.

Can a second chance at a first impression lead to love or a lifetime of heartbreak?

Reader Advisory: This story contains an out-of-body experience, voyeurism, spanking, rough sex, masturbation, and a chance for love to strike twice.

6. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

This book took me about a month to write. I had the idea, but I had to set aside the time to flesh it out properly. When I can put my nose down and work, I can move pretty fast. It’s getting that time that’s not so easy.

7. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

I’m not sure. In my book, the heroine gets a second chance, so in that respect, it could be any number of contemporary second chance books. But as a ghost story, I’m not sure what it would compare to. Good question!

8. Who or What inspired you to write this book?

The inspiration came from readers asking what happened to Felicity. She got sort of a hanging ending in Careless Whisper, so I owed her. I was also inspired by the music video for Hazard by Richard Marx. Remember him? I do and yep, the video got me thinking. The muse ran and I followed. Grin.

9. What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?

When Felicity comes, back, she doesn’t come back as herself, but reincarnated to a degree. It’s up to her to use her personality and the new gifts she’s been given to show John she’s still in love with him.

I'll be choosing one lucky winner to receive an eBook copy of one of my backlist titles from one of the fun comments. So comment away!
