Sunday Snog ~ You'll Think of Me

This is a snog from You'll Think of Me. I love this story and since tomorrow is Veteran's Day in the US, I thought it fit. Enjoy!!

The man of her dreams finally came home from the war, but is he still the man she remembers or have his demons changed him forever?

Melanie Roberts loved her best friend more than she could ever imagine, and for longer than she wants to admit. Though once lovers, she's resigned herself to being no more than his best friend and roommate. On the eve of his return from deployment in Iraq, in order to keep her heart from breaking, she decides she's moving on—after one last sexy night.

Cade Nicholson has come to a decision. As he comes home damaged in both body and soul from his latest deployment, all he wants is to find comfort in Melanie's arms. Unsure and unsteady in expressing his love to the only woman to hold his heart, he has to find a way to convince her of his true feelings.

Can two best friends overcome their demons to prove their love for one another before past decisions come back to haunt them and it’s too late?

And now for that snog!

“I always thought of you.” He tapped his chest, directing her attention to the extra phrase, My Melanie. More tears formed in her eyes and he brushed them away with his kisses. “Melly, you never really left me. I wanted to die in that hospital in Germany, but I needed to live to come home to you. Even if you pushed me away, I decided I wouldn’t take another. You’re in my heart and soul. I’m not me without you, babe. I love you.”

She forced a teary laugh. “You know, I think you’re getting the hang of sappy—and I love it.”

Cade shifted to produce the engagement ring from his jeans pocket. Time to unload another burden.

She gasped. “Cade, that’s your mother’s ring. You… you kept it with you, all this time?”

He offered the delicate piece of jewelry to her. “Life won’t be easy living with me. I’ve got a lot of scars inside and out. I can’t always be the gentle giant you want. Can you accept that?”

“I always did.”

“I dragged this damn ring with me all the way to Afghanistan to remind me that I still loved you. Once we split, I couldn’t begin to fathom offering it to another woman. I wanted you and only you to wear it with pride. Will you take my last name?”

She stuck out her left hand. “Yes, without a doubt, yes!”

Cade slipped the ring onto her finger and scooped her into his arms. “Make my splintered spirit whole.” He placed a chaste kiss on her lips, tasting her. Giving her time to adjust to the change in their relationship, in case she changed her mind at the last minute.

“Huh-uh, big guy.” She fisted her hand in his T-shirt. “I want all of you—right now. Make love to me.”

Cade captured her mouth in a primal kiss, rediscovering every nuance of her. His cock hardened beneath his jeans and pressed against her denim clad pussy. Melanie backed away from him long enough to rip the tank top over her head and toss the cotton garment onto the floor. Her bra soon joined the tank top and her nipples pebbled under his inspection.

Her bold move kicked his desire top a fever pitch. “I won’t be able to last.”

“Perfect. I want this hard and fast.”
