Monday Moans

Ah the craziness begins. If you're like me, it's actually just finished. Confused? I can see you cocking your head like my dog, Dega.

Let me introduce myself, I'm Tucker Poston and I race stock cars for a living. Well, sort of. You see, the season just ended yesterday. I love Miami in fall. It's still like a mild spring day. Plus there's the sea salty air and the acrid tire smoke. So, the festivities and the thrill of the season are over. The hard work is ahead because we have to prepare for next season. Thanksgiving? Christmas? Yeah, they're coming up, but not as essential as tire tests and dyno testing. Come on. I'm a competitor. I want to win, not watch the race from the bleachers.

But that's part of my problem. Yeah...you see, my team decided I wasn't amounting to the next best thing to sliced bread. Sucks. I'm free to seek other employment. Translation: find another team and don't the door slam you in the butt on the way out. Fine. I've got my skills and I can drive when the machinery is up to par. I've got some options. She just doesn't realize it yet.

Megan.

I'm telling you, Megan Rodney was my future back when I was young and dumb and full of vinegar. Was. Yeah, you read that right. She was until I jacked it up. I got a bit ahead of myself and thought I didn't need her love and support. Heck, she was just a kid like me when I started out. But she loved me back then. My ego got the best of me and I pushed her aside thinking the glitz and glamour were more important. They ain't what they're cracked up to be.

You might be thinking at this point that I plan to crawl back to her to get a job.

Bingo.

But, that's not the only thing and certainly not the important part. Yes, she owns a team and yes, she's looking for development talent. Difference? I might need a ride, but I'm also willing to beg if it means being more than just her driver. I want everything. I want the house, the dogs, and the beautiful girl.

This ain't regular rubbin' is racin'. This is the chance to make my life what it should've been from the start.

I'll let you go. I've got a team owner to woo.

Later.

YAY! Tucker is thrilled. In fact, he's standing behind me absolutely preening. Goofy man.

I'm glad you liked it. :)
