Thursday Ramble - To Wong Foo

I know I usually do Travel Thursday posts on Thursdays, but sometimes a ramble is in order. I happened to be awake way later than I should've been updating my website. I started to realize this is why people have webmasters. Geesh, there's a lot to do in updating a site! Anyway, I am one of those people who needs noise when I work. Maybe it's because I have concentration issues or because I just like noise...I don't know. Anyway, so I had the television playing and the movie, To Wong Foo, Thanks for everything, Julie Newmar was on Bravo. Or maybe it was Ovation? Either way... it was on the TV. So I started watching it. Where I was at when the movie originally released, people freaked out. A movie about drag queens! I wanted to see it, but never got around to it. I mean, hey, I was still in school when it came out. People in my hometown freaked out. Anyhow, so I'm watching it and loving Patrick Swayze in that combination of Joan Crawford and Olivia de Havilland look. He had the face for it. And honestly, Wesley Snipes worked the dresses well, too. My favorite scene is when Noxeema (Snipes) finds all the cool retro clothes in the store. All the people come out looking like they stepped out of 1966. It's great. I loved the confidence. I got the site updated (but it seems like it never ends and is never totally done) and finished the movie. I'm glad I did. Bobby Ray was something yummy, too. I hope I write something that makes people laugh, cry and think the way Wong Foo did. What did you think of the movie?

Wednesday Flicks ~ The Goodbye Girl

When I'm feeling cruddy, I love to watch this movie. It's older than I am, but really, who cares? Richard Dreyfuss is hilarious. Plus they have some of the best quotes in this movie:

Paula McFadden: I thought you said you were decent.
Elliot Garfield: I am decent. I also happen to be naked.

Elliot Garfield: Out of where? Out of my rented apartment that you are staying in out of the goodness of my heart? I will bring home anyone or anthing that I choose, including a one-eyed Episcopalian kangaroo if that happens to be my kinky inclination. As for what is going on in there we're rehearsing Act 1, Scene 4 from Richard the Third. I happen to have a cretin from Mars directing this play and I need all the help I can get. However, if I choose to attempt to have carnal knowledge of that gorgeous bod that'll be her option, my problem and none of your business! And just for the record what do you think little Lucy's impression of what was going on in Mama's bedroom with Tony "Love 'em & leave 'em" DeForrest, huh? Hey Mac! Why don't you turn out some of these lights? We're running up a heck of a bill.

Masochist Much?

I tend to bite off a tad more than I can chew on occasion. Don't we all, though?

Anyway, I got a whole slew of movies from the library, yanno, those ones that everyone says, "you gotta see this movie". So I tried to sit down and watch them. Easy enough, right?

Not really.

Why? Cause then I want to rewrite them. Yup, I say, gee, that was a tad expected or predictable.

Maybe I've read too much or read too much stuff that was quality. I dunno. But anyway, so I started rewriting, and then I thought, gee, I could DO better than this.

Here's where the too much factor comes in. I have three stories going right now. I really don't need another one to complicate things. But alas, I started penning the outline for it.

When will I learn?
