Angels and Demons

The hop is about angels. I haven't written about angels - well, not under this name, but I have a sexy spirit who is going to make an appearance in a couple months. Grin. Anyone remember Careless Whisper? Well, Felicity is coming back! Grin. Actually, evil grin! I'll share a snippet from Careless Whisper in a bit, but here's some fun angels Felicity asked me to share!

And now for a little bit about Careless Whisper:

He's her kinkiest desire, if she's willing to open her heart and believe in him.

The dead don't always rest in peace. Some stick around to make the lives of the living hell on Earth. Ryan Black knows the frustration of dealing with the dead. He's a Ghost Explorer. He's conquered houses filled with apparitions, abandoned school buildings that house angry vermin, and managed to woo the female population of Snake Falls, Ohio. But he's about to face his toughest challenge—convincing sceptical Samara Jacobs she not only shares his gift, but holds his heart.

Women fall at Ryan Black's feet and Samara's determined not to be one of the many—that is until she's forced to work with him. He's certain ghosts exist and willing to prove it. As she gets to know the man behind the television persona, she decides the handsome klutz who chases things that go bump in the night isn't so silly after all. But is he worthy of her love?

Reader Advisory: This book contains anal sex and a little harmless domination.
Available here and here!

Now for a snippet!

He rapped on the window to gain her attention. The rain dotting his back did little to cool the fever spiriting through his body.

“Ryan.” Samara screeched and fumbled to turn off the radio. “That’s the second time. You could warn me if this is going to happen on a regular basis.”

“I didn’t want to interrupt the concert.” Ryan slid into the seat and placed the paper bag on the floor between his feet. Regular basis? He loved the sound of that.

“It was sexy.”

“Uh-huh.” She shifted the car into reverse and backed out of the parking spot. “Back to your house?”

“You read my mind.” Once there he’d show her how much he wanted her and all the places they could explore—body, mind, soul.

“That’s not even close to what’s whirling in your mind.” She snickered. “I said nothing about fucking senseless on the couch, dining room table, stairs, and finally the bed.”

“I am who I am and I don’t lie.” He shifted in his seat to cover the growing erection behind his zipper. Maybe she knew more about sharing her thoughts than she let on. “Although your ideas sound like a better plan.”

Now about those prizes! This is for the WHOLE HOP: ONE winner gets a Kindle Touch & ONE winner gets a $60 Amazon or Barnes&Noble Gift Card. You HAVE to leave your name and email so we can get in touch with you.

Clothing Optional with Virg Nelson!

Today I'd like to welcome my dear friend, Virginia Nelson, to the blog today! She's got a new release, Clothing Optional and she's here to talk about it. Take it away, Virg!

First off, Wendi, thanks so much for having me on the blog today! It has been very hot here in Northeast Ohio. The perfect weather for my upcoming release with MuseItHot, Clothing Optional.

Yes, I want to make a confession. My name is Virginia Nelson and I write steamy books.

Phew. Glad that’s out.

Now that it is, I have to say that—as a reader—I find the hot romance to be far more believable if the characters give me a reason to believe they care about one another. There are a lot of ways for a writer to achieve this.

The one I used in Clothing Optional (mmf erotic) is a friend’s first approach. Murphy and Brie, longtime best friends, have feelings that go a little further than friendship. But the thing that changes their relationship is the catalyst of Andy, Murphy’s new boyfriend. Andy encourages Murphy to dare a little more…cross barriers that seemed impossible.

On the rebound, Brie is thrilled at the idea of a vacation on the beaches of Florida. It will be especially great since it is with two men who are absolutely irresistible…and equally unattainable. Murphy and his boyfriend are offering the escape and maybe, if she spends enough time with them, she will be able to resist wanting to strip them every time she sees them.

Murphy has always been oddly attracted to his best pal, Brie. But he has never touched a woman in that way. When his lover and boyfriend Andy suggests they make love to her, that she is perfect for them to experience a ménage, Murphy wonders if he is not enough somehow.

But the temptation of having them both…When they get to the resort and find out that “Clothing Optional” should have been in bold print on the brochure, the three of them are in for the weekend of their lives.

Clothing Optional will be available starting June 29th from MuseItUp but you can preorder it now and save 20% off list price. Grab your copy here today. Virginia Nelson spends her days chasing three very active kids around. When she is not doing this, or plotting taking over the world, she likes to write, play in the mud, drive far too fast and scream at inanimate objects. She can often be found listening to music that is far too loud and typing her next fantastic tale of blood, sex and random acts of ineptitude. Romance, in Ms. Nelson’s opinion, is not about riding off into the sunset on the back of a horse with the knight in shining armor— it is about riding the dragon. If the knight can keep up… well, that is love.

Lila Munro's Assumed Master!

I have the fantastic Lila Munro here today with her new book, Assumed Master. I love having Lila here because she's awesome and always has the greatest answers. (No huge build-up or anything! Grin.) Now you're going to want to comment. Why? Lila will be giving away a $25 Amazon GC to one randomly drawn commenter during the tour. How cool is that? In my opinion, it's very cool.

Follow the tour here! Now let's get down to that interview! Welcome Lila! What was your favorite scene to write in Assumed Master?

Toward the end of the book, there is actually a series of scenes that I loved writing. They entail Dante finally taking possession of Julie through exerted the full force of his dominance over her. Without giving too much away, I’ll just say she is left coated in honey at one point. Fun stuff!

OOH! Honey and a hot man... yum! What was the inspiration behind Assumed Master?

Assumed Master is actually book four in the Identity series, so the inspiration is character driven. While I initially wrote book one, Identity Crisis, as a fun little project thinking it would squash my desire to write BDSM, the opposite happened and it only fed the need to tell these stories. Assumed Identity, book three, was supposed to end the series. I thought I was playing by the rule of threes, but Dante spoke up and Julie’s story is continued through Assumed Master, which consequently isn’t the last book either. Allen, another player, started talking more seriously and his story will come out later in the summer via book five, Assumed Calling.

Gotta love when the characters just keep talking. What is the most interesting thing you’ve done in the name of research?

Oh, I’ve done some very interesting things. They all involved live interviews with a host of very interesting people whom all practice healthy vibrant relationships in the lifestyle. Of course, I’ve simply approached people at random and struck up conversations, that usually elicits some very interesting interviews. I enjoy regular visits to adult stores…my local Adam and Eve knows me by name, and the UPS man looks at me suspiciously each time a package arrives in a plain brown wrapper.

Hee hee. I love the bit about the UPS man. Maybe that should be a story starter! What do you consider as the most frustrating side of becoming a published author and what has been the most rewarding?

I think in the beginning, the most frustrating thing was the daunting realization that as a real writer only about 5% of your time is spent writing. The other 100% is spent promoting yourself. The most rewarding is the things I’ve learned through that promotion. I’ve met new friends and established a network that is most valuable. And I’ve found my voice. I’m not one to toot my own horn and crowds aren’t my thing, but this has been rather therapeutic in that I’ve learned to put myself out there with abandon and be me.

What accent inspires you to do naughty things?

Scottish. What is it about that brogue? I once threatened to buy Gerard Butler off Ebay and stand him in the corner to speak to me as directed… Now that's something I'd go in on with you. We could share him. Grin. Name something readers would be surprised to learn about you?

Gosh, I’ve told so many things on myself in the last year doing interviews, I’m not sure there much left that anyone doesn’t know or would shock them if they didn’t know. Here’s one that never fails to glean a guffaw…I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue.

If you could ask the readers one question what would it be?

What didn’t work for you in “fill in the blank” story? Without constructive criticism it’s hard to fix problems.

What’s your writing process like?

Honestly, it’s evolved over the months since my first contract. At first I was an anal plotster, then I weaved a bit off the road and the characters decided they were in charge and pantster it was. Now, I’m somewhere comfortably in the middle. I have detailed notes, I have to with writing series or my timelines, plots and characters would get all muddled up, but in the event a character speaks out and says, “Hey, did you ever consider…?” I sit back and listen to the possibility.

Totally true. What is your method of breaking through writer’s block?

Write. Write anything and everything. After a few blog posts or blurb attempts the muses usually tire of those things and want to get back to work.  And listen for the voices to return while in a steaming bubble bath with a bit of libation on hand.

I agree 1000%. What fuels you as an author to continue to write?

I’m not sure how to describe it. I think the fuel is something every author possesses and it’s neither tangible nor explainable. It’s a fire that lives within us that just simply will not go away and the more it’s ignored the larger it grows. It’s innate. A desire that knows no beginning and no end and demands to be heard.

Can you tell us a bit about what book(s) you have coming out next and what you’re working on now?

I’m currently working on the next Identity book, number five in the series, Assumed Calling. It’s due out late summer. Past that I can tell you my queue is full. I have several other series I’m working on and a few stand-alone novels. I plan on returning to the military romance genre later this year and putting out some things I’ve had back-burnered since the Identity series took center stage.

Yay! Another Identity book! When you get a chance to read, what books do you love to read?

My TBR pile is as varied as the direction of the wind. I read everything and anything it would seem, although I do tend to veer toward erotic and contemporary romance. I’m also a sucker for a good historical.

Mine is just as eccentric. What bores you as a reader?

Formulaic romance and anything that reads like a check list. It shows a lack of creativity.

That's very true. What is your favorite feature on a person?

That’s hard to say really. Every person is different and while I might find one person’s eyes the center of attraction, another’s chin may define how I see them. Honestly, I look to a person’s heart first before any physical feature.

What is your favorite time of day?

Early morning when it’s quiet. I get a lot of thinking and writing done then.

I wish I had it like that. There's no silence in my house. Grin. What music gets you dancing?

I just love to dance, so anything with a catchy beat does it. My music tastes are as varied as my taste in books.

Then I say we have a huge dance party! Okay, now for a few fun questions! You have been locked in a mall and told you can get anything you want and when they open in the morning you won’t have to pay a single cent. What stores would you hit? Better question how would you haul away all your loot?

Well, I really, really hope they have a grocery, because I’m calling all my friends up who own trucks and we’re taking it all to the local food bank. The second place I’d hit would be a baby store and haul all that off to the center for mother’s in need, to include maternity clothes. Those things are expensive and it tears my heart out when a young mother in need can’t afford something for herself in the most precious time of her life, when she’s nurturing another being with her own body.< br />
If you could share one major writing tip, to help other writers in their quest for publication, what would it be?

Listen to the criticisms and take them under advisement. If you get a rejection letter or dress down from an editor, listen. These folks know what they’re doing or they wouldn’t be running successful presses. Through this figure out where you went wrong, fix it, and try again.

If you could write in any other genre what would it be, and why?

Historical. I keep threatening to venture there, but have yet found the time in between other projects needed to do the research required.

Thanks Lila! I'm glad you were here. Now a little bit about Lila's newest book, Assumed Master.

We may be born to the lifestyle,

Julie Stevens and Dante Larson always knew their tastes were a bit more eccentric than those of the average person, but acknowledgement of their chosen paths came at different times. While their lives have run parallel for the last twenty years, destiny always came knocking at the wrong time. Julie was a closeted edge player and before Dante could pull her free of her fears, Mason came along and dragged her kicking and screaming from her self-inflicted darkness, leaving Dante wanting. Although Dante’s been in love with Julie since the day he first laid eyes on her, he's happily married to Blake. But the tides are turning.

But Lady Fate dictates how it should be lived…

Still mourning the death of the only Master she’s ever known, Julie finds herself forced to live with the one man she’s been terrified of for years, Dante. While she has to admit something between them feels right, just as many things feel very, very wrong, starting with the fact he’s married to her gay best friend. Before she even has time to sort out her current predicament, another man catches Julie's attention. But after losing her mother, her sister, and her husband, can Julie come to grips with the fact that Keegan McKettrick jumps out of perfectly good helicopters for a living, rescue diving for the Coast Guard? And where exactly does that leave Dante, who knows for sure he needs a woman to complete his unconventional marriage? Quite frankly, he's tired of waiting.

Sunday Snoggin' ~ Love Remembers

Time for a scorching hot kiss! Thanks to Blisse Kiss for having the Sunday Snogs. Love them! Today is the Blisse Kiss by the Sea event and even though I don't have a sea faring story, or even one set BY the sea but that's okay. I love posting the snogs and couldn't skip a week! Grin. So which snog am I featuring today? Glad you asked.

I'm featuring Love Remembers. It's not a sea story, but the heroine does cross a stream to get to the hero. Close enough. Check out the other snogs, but read mine first.

available here!

Now about that snog!

“I can love whomever I choose.”

Love? Had she heard him correctly…again? She sucked in a ragged breath. “Gregorius…”

“You are a freed woman in my home.” He rubbed his nose along her cheek. “Yes, the laws state you must be a citizen in order for us to marry, but rules are meant to be broken.”

More tears pricked behind her eyes. “Please do not offer me things I cannot have.”

All her dreams seemed possible…and yet, once Visius learned of her whereabouts, nothing good would come of his actions. “You do not want me as a pallake.”

He placed a kiss to the very corner of her mouth, teasing her. “Ah, your spark, your fire should wound me. Instead, it draws me in.” Taking her hand in his, he nipped each finger then laved his tongue over the soft bites. “Time be damned, I find myself addicted to you all over again, Aspasia.” His kisses trailed down her bare arm. “You have filled my dreams and my fantasies since the moment I saw you in your father’s stall.” His erection stabbed against her thigh. “You may have all of me. I am yours.”

He tilted her chin to crush his mouth over hers. She mewled, wanting him everywhere.

And now for an excerpt!!!

“Shhhh…Love, it’s okay. I know. I understand. I suspect Mason will have quite a grip on you for quite a while in that respect, and I get it. I wouldn’t expect anything less.” He stood and pulled her to her feet, turned the water off, then moved to the vanity where he retrieved another towel and started squeezing water from her hair with it. “But you need that anchor. Do you understand that? You need to get settled into a routine. It’ll help bring you back center.”

“I know,” Julie whispered.

She didn’t know how this would ever work. Dante wasn’t the emotional Master that Mason had been. He was more a physical Dom and very stringent. That he was being so easy on her right now defied reason. That was almost more confusing than being here to begin with. If anything, she’d have expected Dante to turn her over his knee immediately for back talking and shutting him out.

“Let’s just use Sir for now,” Dante told her, tossing the wet towel onto the hamper. “Yes?”

“Yes,” she said, still clutching the towel around her middle and peering up at their shared reflection in the foggy mirror.

“Yes, what?”

“Yes, Sir.”

New Review For When You're With Me!

Natasha Blackthorne has posted a review for When You're With Me. Natasha is a dear friend of mine and I very much appreciate her thoughts on this book. Here's what she had to say!

I loved this story. The main characters are so well drawn and deep. They are two flawed human beings who are working hard to overcome the obstacles in their life, and in doing so, find love together. The journey that Jude and Drew takes is very emotional and erotic and a touch on the darker side. There is a definite feeling of hope for the future and healing and a very credible and satisfying happy ending. When I Am With You is one of my top two favorites of Wendi Zwaduk's works. I also love Please Remember Me. Her realistic heroines are so easy to cheer for as they struggle to grow and learn.

A topless dancer plus a cynical cop doesn’t equal a lifetime love...or does it?

There’s more to Jude Nelson than just a sequined thong. She has big dreams of becoming an artist. There’s one tiny wrinkle in her plan-she’ll never forget the bloody image of her friend’s battered body in the dumpster.

Who can a nude dancer turn to for help? Certainly not a hardened undercover cop...

Detective Drew Alwyn is on the case to find out who murdered his good friend and fellow officer. But the moment he sees Jude, he can’t look away. He has to decide which is more important-his dedication to his job or the girl who holds his bruised and battered heart.

Will these two opposites come together to solve the case or will their desire consume them?

Reader Advisory: This story contains scenes of bondage, mentions of drug use by secondary characters, silk, sequins and art supplies used in foreplay, voyeurism and a little spanking for good measure.

Available at Total-E-Bound or AllRomance Ebooks

Lovestruck Finale!

Lucky Seven ~ One More Night

I was tagged by Victoria Blisse and Natasha Blackthorne to participate in Lucky 7, in which an author excerpts seven sentences of a current work, from page seventy-seven (or seven), seven lines down on the page. And then I nominate and notify seven other authors to participate.

This is from an unedited story, entitled One More Night. See what you think.

Onto the counter? He nodded. Could he hide his reaction if his leg gave way? Drake grasped her hips. “Ready?”

Instead of bracing her hands on the counter, Jenna wrapped her arms around his neck. “I owe you a proper hello.” She stood on her toes and rubbed her nose along his. “Hi, Drake. I’ve missed you.” She captured his mouth in a kiss.

Tingles surged down his spine. Heat settled in his belly. He groaned and smoothed his hands along her sides. Without breaking the kiss, she crept closer. She opened her mouth and slid her tongue along the seam of his lips.

I'm not sure who all I'll tag, so I'll leave it open right now. Grin. Enjoy!

Summer Hop ~ Tangled Up!

It's time for a Summer Hop, but this one is for the extra sexy stuff. Yeppers. It's an erotic hop. So that means it's getting HOT in here. Yes! I love a good hot book. Heck, I write them. There's nothing better than reading an erotic romance, getting in the mood and jumping on the one you love--especially when it's hot out.

For my portion of the hop, I'm featuring my menage story, Tangled Up:

What if the person you want for the rest of your life isn’t one... but two?

Mindy Mayes knew her husband was bisexual from the moment they met. She loved Arran with her whole heart until the day he asked for a separation to be with his partner, Sav. Through the ups and downs of life after the marriage, she, Arran and Sav remained close.

Things are about to change.

Though he walked away, Arran’s never given up on a life with Mindy. He’s in love with Sav and totally committed. But it’s his wedding anniversary. What if they took the threesome created out of friendship and made it into something more?

Maybe the perfect number is three after all.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of m/m intimacy, bondage—including a wicked hot scene with nipple clips and anal sex. Oh my!

Who do you vote for your favorite erotic read? Leave that in the comments along with your name and your email and you're in the hopper for the pdf of Tangled Up. I'd love it if you followed me on twitter, facebook, the blog, but I don't expect it for you to win. You do it because you want to.

Monday Moans ~ You'll Think of Me

I'm a little late getting the moan onto the blog, but gracious, yesterday was a busy day! Grin. So here it is. An oldie but a goodie! I'm still working on a follow-up for Rhett, don't worry. It's one of those seemingly endless things that's in the works. So enjoy You'll Think of Me.

You'll Think of Me
Total-E-Bound

Available here!

The man of her dreams finally came home from the war, but is he still the man she remembers or have his demons changed him forever?

Melanie Roberts loved her best friend more than she could ever imagine, and for longer than she wants to admit. Though once lovers, she's resigned herself to being no more than his best friend and roommate. On the eve of his return from deployment in Iraq, in order to keep her heart from breaking, she decides she's moving on—after one last sexy night.

Cade Nicholson has come to a decision. As he comes home damaged in both body and soul from his latest deployment, all he wants is to find comfort in Melanie's arms. Unsure and unsteady in expressing his love to the only woman to hold his heart, he has to find a way to convince her of his true feelings.

Can two best friends overcome their demons to prove their love for one another before past decisions come back to haunt them and it’s too late?

Reader Advisory: This book contains anal and outdoor sex.

And now for that MOAN!

“Did I ever tell you how dead sexy you are?”

As he raised his thick brows and smirked, he rubbed her back with long, languid strokes. The creases on his forehead melted away, making him look like the Cade she remembered. Could Rhett’s comment be true? A tiny part of her hoped so. She shoved the thought aside to insulate her feelings.

“It’s been a while, Mel. Why?”

His sexy rumble turned her insides out and spurred her on. She let go of his shirt and cupped his cheeks. “You are, and I want you—right now.” She pressed her open lips to his and moaned. Kissing Cade was almost better than sex. He knew how to tease and torment her with nothing more than his tongue. He tasted like sin and smelled divine, like an outdoorsman. A girl could get lost in that much testosterone, and Melanie never wanted to be found. How had she managed to stay friends-with-benefits with him for so long after the break up?

Groaning, he wound his fingers in her hair. Her scalp tingled as he spoke against her lips. “You do know how to get a man’s attention.”

She tugged him into the game room. Thoughts raced through her head. Her nipples brushed against his chest, sending streaks of electricity straight to her core.

As she snicked the door shut with her hip, she rubbed her hands over his body, both to keep her desires in check and to entice him. Hard muscle and heat seared her fingers. Her body hummed with excitement only Cade could elicit. Maybe if she stuck to touching, she could keep her heart safe within her defences.

His eyes darkened and a low whistle escaped his lips. He tugged her into his embrace as they toppled over the arm of the knobby brown couch. She ground her crotch against the steel in his pants and clutched his ass. “I want you.” God, it felt good to admit the truth. When he crushed his lips to her, he explored her mouth with his tongue. He slipped his right hand under her tank top and bra, pinching her taut nipple. Shimmers of lust and need raced through her veins. His normally hard expression softened and he smiled. “Baby, I want you too. I dreamt of you, but not like this.”

Did he want more? Emboldened, she fumbled to remove his cock from his pants. “I need you in me.”

“Wait.” He slid her silk panties to the side and stroked the slickness over her nether lips with his thick fingers, sending tremors through her body at warp speed. She whimpered. Had it been that long since she’d had sex? Yes, and he knew how to push all her buttons with the smallest touches.

As she curled her body into him, she nibbled his scratchy jaw and throat. “Cade!”

“So wet and so pretty, but I want to make this last. I want you so wet you’re begging for me.” He groaned and nipped her bottom lip between his teeth. He grasped her hip with his left hand. With the index finger of his right hand, he plundered her tight pussy in one long stroke.

Melanie closed her eyes and moaned. “Oh, God!”

Sunday Snoggin' With Ever Fallen in Love!

There's nothing better than a hot kiss on a lazy day. Thanks to Blisse Kiss for having the Sunday Snogs. Love them! So which snog am I featuring today? Glad you asked. Grin.

I'm featuring my racing novella, Ever Fallen in Love. A domination, a submissive and race trucks. Can't get much better than that! Here's a little bit about the book:

Ever Fallen in Love
Total-E-Bound
Contemporary
M/F, BDSM, Spanking, Anal sex

Tucker lost the love of his life once, but this time, he’s not taking no for an answer.

Once a driver, always a driver...

Racing consumes Tucker Poston’s life. Until he sees her again...Megan Rodney. She’s the one person to come between him and his ride. She’s the only woman to understand him. The only woman he’s ever loved. Circumstances tore their love apart. Now he’s determined to show her the contents of his soul, even if it means losing his heart.

Being a driver doesn’t warm his lonely nights. Too bad she’s not interested.

Megan’s not about to fall for his smooth lines and slick image. She’s got a good life as a team owner for a stock car team. Still, memories of their love affair burn bright in her mind. What’s a girl to do when the man of her dreams, the man who pushed her away, wants a second chance at forever?

Reader Advisory: This book contains a little spanking, anal play, and domination shared between former lovers, but no one’s complaining. For good measure, there’s the sizzling use of a Camaro hood for outdoor pleasure.

Available here, here, here, and here!

And now for that snog!

“You’re one of the smartest people I know.” Megan shuffled backwards, halted only by the unforgiving metal of the car against her legs. Damn, she’d backed into the cars. Using his arms to cage her in, Tucker rested his body against hers and pinned her to the fender with his hips. “Then why did I run from the only woman I ever really loved? Why did I avoid her until she married another man?”

She needed a joke. Something to dissolve the tension growing between them. Better yet, something to deflate the erection burrowing into her thigh. “You’re into self-flagellation?”

“Cute. I’d rather spank you.” He shifted his hips, rubbing his cock into the cleft of her thighs, right against her fabric-covered clit. She shivered and he nodded. “Feels good, doesn’t it?” He swiped his tongue out over her bottom lip. Tease.

“Tucker.”

“Why do I lay awake at night imagining you’re with me, Megs, making love until dawn? Seeing you atop the hauler gives me a hard-on only you can ease. Seeing you smile melts the ice around my heart. Put the two together and I’m putty in your hands. I want to touch you, taste you, tie you up and make love to you.”

“You’ve been in one too many crashes with a loose helmet.” Megan wiped her cheeks. Trust him to say nice things when she wanted him to continue the jackass routine or fuck her senseless.

“Nah, I’m bewitched by you. I want to see you bound to my bed, pleading with your eyes. I want to hear you cry my name.”

He kissed her again, but this time it wasn’t a crushing urgent kiss like before. This kiss was the kind that meant business. His lips glided over hers as his tongue invaded her mouth. Megan moaned and Tucker pushed farther. She balled her fists and shoved them against his chest.

Lovestruck Hop ~ Must Be Doing Something Right

The point of this hop is to talk about those books that just totally grabbed us. The ones that made us fall in love with the characters. I'd love for one of my books to be like that for you. Which book made me fall head over heels? One of my all-time favorite books. Regularly Scheduled Life by KA Mitchell. There was something about those guys that drew me in and kept me right there with them. I laughed, cried and wanted to kick them at times, but I couldn't put the book down.

Here's a little bit about the book:

Sean and Kyle have enjoyed six perfect years of what their friends called a disgustingly happy relationship. But what happens one sunny morning might be more than even the most loving couple can survive. When the bell rings that morning in chemistry teacher Seans first-period class, a terrifying sound fills the hallsgunshots. Sean runs to tackle the shooter, sustaining a bullet wound to his leg. He is unable to save the lives of the principal and two students. Kyle hears about the shooting on the radio, and in the flash of an instant finds his life irrevocably altered. Everythingespecially his hearthangs suspended in a nightmare until he finds out Sean is alive. Kyles just relieved the worst is over. Or is it? Putting that day behind them isnt as simple as it sounds. As Sean struggles to make something positive out of the tragedy, Kyle fights to save their relationship from the dangers of publicityand Seans unwillingness to face how the crisis has changed him.

Available here and here!

What was it about them that stayed with me? First they are totally right for each other and show it all the time. It was sweet to see just how hung up on each other they were.

Another thing was that they were realistic. I've been in situations similar to a school shooting and I could relate to what Sean and Kyle went through. The emotions conveyed were real and I felt them like I was right there. This line got to me:

"I kept thinking that I didn't do enough. Survivor's guilt or whatever they call it. But whatever it was I let it become the most important thing in my life. And that's where I fucked up."

It's a very pivotal moment where I got to see just what made Sean tick and how the pain was destroying his life. I wanted to step in and save him.

I've told you about my lovestruck book. I want to know who has left you lovestruck? Leave that in the comments along with your name and your email and you're in the hopper for the pdf of Must Be Doing Something Right. I'd love it if  you followed me on twitter, facebook, the blog, but I don't expect it for you to win. You do it because you want to.

The contest ends June 22nd at midnight, so act now. I'll announce the winner right here on the blog on June 23rd as well as I'll email the winner!

Lori Foster and Basket Winners!

I got more behind than I'd like to admit today, but here's today's post. Better late than never. My basket for the Lori Foster event was a movie themed diva basket. A metal beer bucket, pink boa, Chicago, Fried Green Tomatoes, Relax wine, a crown, a sceptre, earrings, beaded notebook, popcorn and a plastic popcorn bucket among other things. Now the coolest part, besides $11,000 being donated to the One Way Farm, my winner was Jambrea Jo Jones. Love her and loved seeing her stroll around in the boa and crown.

And in case you wondered, I do have a photo of the basket I won. Grin. Here you go!

I won Donna MacMeans' basket and love it. And yes, I am a total dork. But you all knew that. Grin.

Monday Moans ~ Somewhere I Belong

Time for the Monday Moans!! I love this time of the week. I get to share a saucy moan with you and maybe introduce you to a new to you book. This week the moan comes from Somewhere I Belong. I'm debating writing John's story from this book. If you've read it, let me know. I'd love input. But you're here to read the moan, too. So without further ado...

Somewhere I Belong
Liquid Silver Books
Contemporary, M/F
novella
available here and here!

Sullavan Tanner walked away from Jarvis, Ohio, afraid to give his heart to the woman he loved. He lived the rock and roll lifestyle, but never quite made it to the big time. Fifteen years later, he’s back and ready to claim what’s his—if she’ll accept his help.

Marley Lockwood’s done asking for help. The family farm is more than she can handle, but if she can survive a cancer scare, the loss of her parents, the abandonment by her first love, and a messy divorce, she can handle anything.

Until Sully shows up.

Although she’s not interested in rekindling the love affair, she’s not above accepting Sully’s hands on the farm. What’s the worst that could happen? They get the farm out of the red and into the black? That’s her plan. They actually fall in love? The past says it won’t work, so she’s not hedging her bets.

Too bad Sully’s not giving up this time.

And now for that Moan!

Sully marched across the lawn to the smaller pond on the north end of the property. Frogs croaked, and Canadian geese honked overhead. Cattails swayed. The tall grass rustled. The scent of wildflowers, dish soap, and Marley swirled around him. The combination was more intoxicating than the stiffest drink, yet left him sober enough to know what he was doing.

Once he set her on her soggy sneaker-clad feet, he stared at the picture she made. Wild chestnut curls danced in the breeze, crimson stained her cheeks, and fire lit her blue eyes. The T-shirt plastered itself to her body, and the outline of a navel ring caught his attention. So she’d kept her wild side. Good for her. He never saw a woman look sexier in such a natural, yet rebellious fashion.

“Why’d you go all cave man on me?” She cocked her hip and thrust out her chin. “You already had my attention.”

He wound his fingers through her hair, drawing her close. God, she felt so right. Why didn’t he see the connection before? Or rather, why didn’t he make the connection before? “Marley, being in New York didn’t soothe my soul.”

“I see. It’s not making me change my mind about men, but I see.”

Think, Sul, think. “I’m more afraid of the things I can’t control. You make me so crazy. My thoughts jumble and asshole things come out of my mouth.”

“I’m not looking for love.” Marley shoved her hands into her back pockets. Her breasts arched towards him. “I’m running away at a full sprint.”

“That’s when love finds you, when you aren’t ready.” He traced the neckline of her T-shirt. Sully cupped her breast, flicking his thumb over the beaded tip.

She slapped her hand through the air and backed away. “Save the syrupy stuff for one of your power ballads. I’m sitting this one out.”

“I’ll put in all the schmaltz I can, if the song’s written for you.” He grabbed the waistband of her shorts and tugged her flush against his body. Her mewl turned him inside out.

She stared at his shirt a moment before gazing into his eyes. “Hey, I’m not perfect or beautiful, and I speak my mind, I’m not the kind of woman—”

Sully gave into temptation and dipped down to taste her, silencing further explanation. Marley whimpered, thumping her fists against his chest. After a moment of hesitation, she opened to him, twining their tongues. He wrapped his arms around her body, cradling her, learning her curves.

“You need time, but you make it hard for me to behave.” He broke the kiss and tangled his hands in her hair. “I want you.”

Sunday Snog ~ Right Where I Need to Be

This week for my Sunday Snog, I thought I'd shine a spotlight on my first novel, Right Where I Need to Be. Thanks to Victoria Blisse for having the Sunday Snogs. This is so much fun. Click here or on the banner for more snogs. Now on to that Snog of mine!

Right Where I Need to Be Wild Rose Press Contemp Spicy, m/f Novel Available here!

Logan Malone needs an acting job and fast. With his string of broken hearts, his professional life lies in shambles. To resurrect his career, he must audition for a television role which could be the job of a lifetime.

Cass Jensen needs an actor for her made for TV movie. The previous actor dropped out, leaving her stranded. Her savior shows up looking sinfully sexy and totally right for the part, but what part is she auditioning him for - her movie or her bed?

It's snoggin' time! “There’s a lot you don’t know about me,” he replied and sat on the edge of the bed. Wary, she took a step back. “Ah. You’re only staying one night. We don’t need to get intimate.”

He cocked his head. “You know you want to.”

“Don’t go there. I’ll get you an extra pillow and blanket.”

“For you?”

She wrinkled her brows. “Nope. I’m a loner.”

“I want to tell you something.”

Cass stiffened and narrowed her eyes. She could see the wheels turning in his mind. Knowing Logan as little as she did, she had no idea what he thought. The dogs whined behind her. Something felt off.

“It’s not bad, I promise.”

“Oh, sure.”

“When I’m around you, I’m tongue-tied because I want you to like me.”

She knotted her fingers together, mostly because she didn’t know what else to do with them rather than reach for him. She turned away. When did the air in the room get so blasted thin and warm? “I see.”

“Do you?”

His words washed over her like a waterfall. She wanted to give in, but if she touched him, she’d never be able to pull away. She turned back around. “Logan this can’t—”

He stood inches from her. His eyes flashed just as he lowered his lips to hers. A warm rush flowed from her brain all the way to her toes. She felt sparks radiate from his fingertips as he twined them with hers. A moan escaped her throat. Oh, he tasted too good to walk away from.

But in that instant, he pulled back. “That’s just a sampling,” he murmured. “We could continue all night long, if you desire.”

Cass swallowed hard. His erection jabbed into her stomach. Maybe she could turn a man on after all. More thunder crashed, spooking the dog.

“I’d better go,” she whispered.

Logan nodded. “I’ll be here if you need me.”

Shameless Summer and Books!

Thanks to Jen at Red Hot Books, Brie at Romance Around the Corner & Michelle at Michelle's Book Blog for putting this on. Visit them if you don't already!

This shameless summer hop celebrates those white hot books that are favorites. You know, the ones that require a fan and a glass of something chilly when reading. As you can see above, the book I chose is one of my first. Learning How to Bend. It's a story of coming home, accepting things can't always be changed and finding rebirth in the midst of something rough. I love the threesome involved. Seth, Abby and Nate are like my friends. I love them and wasn't ready to let them go.

Their marriage is about to fall apart, but not if she can help it and he's willing to bend.

Abby Donovan imagined nothing could change her simple life as a librarian. Her loving husband Seth, a mechanic in the Air National Guard, is scheduled to return from a short deployment in Iraq. Before he gets home, a letter arrives. It seems Seth is asking for a divorce. She must decide whether to walk away without a fight or to wait and confront him with the thing he's always dreamed of - a ménage à trois. But all is not as it seems.

Seth Donovan wanted an idyllic life to go along with his career in the military. Then he sees the atrocities of war firsthand. A conversation with a colleague ends up as fodder for the rumour mill and so much more. Seth never wanted a divorce. He wants his wife. Will she accept him despite the rumours and advances from another man? Or can their relationship withstand the turmoil of war?

Who do you vote for your favorite threesome? Leave that in the comments along with your name and your email and you're in the hopper for the pdf of Learning How to Bend. I'd love it if you followed me on twitter, facebook, the blog, but I don't expect it for you to win. You do it because you want to.

The contest ends June 15th at midnight, so act now. I'll announce the winner right here on the blog on June 16th as well as I'll email the winner!

So you can keep going, here's the linky code for the rest of the hop:

Lori Foster Reader and Author Get Together

Okay, so actually I was going to call this post what I did on my weekend vacation but that didn't sound nearly as cool. Shrug. Most of the time, I don't sound cool.

The Lori Foster Reader and Author Event is one of the premier events to attend. Why? Because it's like hanging out with a ton of your favorite girlfriends who also happen to be authors. Yes. And it rocks. It's very PG rated, but really, do you NEED to have X rated all the time? Nah.

I left early on Thursday because I wanted to be there in time to put my stuff in the goody bags on Friday. Let me tell you. It was worth it, but man there was a LOT in those bags. Took the 20 or so folks (including me) about 3 hours to fill 500 or so bags. Yeah, that's a lot of bags. What was in there? Bookmarks, chap sticks, book thongs, lots of post cards, post-it notes, book samplers, print books (yes, I said print books), candy... all that.

I don't have a picture of it, but imagine two women-one wanting to eat lunch, both more than a little tired (already), trying to figure out how to get to the Quiznos. I love Quiznos, BTW. Needless to say, we missed a turn, ended up across the freeway, and Linda McMaken and I had a freaking blast. We ended up at the Steak 'n' Shake where I swear she got the world's largest tea. But it was worth it.

Somehow I ended up on the Welcoming Committee, which was so much fun, with Donna MacMeans, Desiree Holt, Keri Stevens, and a couple other ladies whose names (sadly) I've forgotten (sad because I loved working with them). We were instructed by Donna to pass out "virgin beads". Grin. Beads for those who were new to the con this past year. So I was one of the shouting people. "Who is the virgin? I want you! I want YOUR virginity!" Grin. I was very popular. Got a lot of blushes, too.

On a side note, I took part in the raffle for One Way Farm (check that out, if you haven't already - it's an awesome thing they do). I put tickets in for the Donna MacMeans basket. Why? There was a bottle of wine with her book cover on it in there. And guess what? I won!!!! I wasn't smart enough to take a pic of the basket before I dismantled it. Meh. I was excited. Grin.

I then took part in the massive epub/POD/digital signing. Talk about the company of fantastic people! Kaenar Langford, JA Saare, Desiree Holt, Dana Marie Bell, Christina Wolfer, yeah, there was some great talent there.

I have no idea what time I finally calmed down Friday night, but I happily went to my room with my Signed copy of Archeron. Yeah, the Sherrilyn Kenyon book. I went to sleep a happy girl.

What did Saturday entail? Lots! I hung out with Stephanie 'Flash' Burke, D Renee Bagby, Cheryl Dragon, Brannan Black, Camille Anthony, Drea Beacraft, Desiree Holt, Renee Vincent, the ladies of Turquoise Morning Press, Kelli Collins from Ellora's Cave, Moni Draper from Liquid Silver Books, my dear friend, Linda McMacken, as well as the Ladies of Book Obsessed Chicks.

I did some pitching, some freaking out (try pitching to seven people. kinda scary), had some supper, listening to everyone else win prizes, donned a cowboy hat, cracked up with Flash and D Renee, and the BOC. Yeah, it was worth it.

One of the best parts of the night had to be when I hung out with Virg Nelson. Started out talking at the cowboy party. We chatted at the table, moved to the atrium still talking, I kind of did another pitch (yeah, not sure how that happened), ended up hanging out outside with Gayle Donnelly and Robyn Mackenzie, Lydia Michaels and Erin McCarthy. Yeah, fangirl moment. Jennifer Mathis was out there, too and we had a blast. Talked necromancers, vampires, and racing books. Oh and Amish Vampires. Yes, it was eclectic. I know it was after midnight when I finally crashed. Well after midnight.

The next morning I was mistaken for Anne Rainey and saw a charcoal truck overturn. All in all, it was a good time.

Oh and I made a total fool of myself, but what's new? I'll leave you with that photo. Grin.

Late Monday Moan ~ Right Where I Need to Be

I'm late getting this week's Monday Moan up because well, I went to sleep last night after practically running all weekend long. Don't get me wrong, I had fun. I'll be posting about my weekend in a day or two (check on Wednesday), but right now is about the Moan! Right Where I Need to Be

Temporarily forgetting her visitor, she opened the door to the ice-blue guest room. “What the…” Her jaw dropped. There in all his naked glory, totally at ease and unaware, stood Logan Malone. He grabbed her fuchsia towel and wrapped it around his toned buns. Her mouth watered. She willed her heart to stop thudding so loud.

He turned slowly, giving her a tantalizing view of his sculpted back and legs. “Hi.”

Cass snapped her jaw shut. How did the man pull off casual in such a heavy situation? She spouted the first thing that popped into her head. “You always parade around in pink towels?” Oh crap. That sounded stupid.

He dipped his head. A wicked smile curled the corner of his mouth. Cass tried not to fan herself. Did the heat kick on? “I prefer blue or green, but I make do with what’s available.” He winked. “Enjoying the view?”

She nodded and licked her lips. Enjoying? Try having one of the most exciting daydreams of her life. “Well, then Mr. Pink. I’ll let you get dressed. I hate interruptions.” She turned to leave.

“Cass?”

She froze. The sound of rustling came from the room. “My manly blue towels are in the wash.” Forcing her feet to move, she stepped down the hallway and took a deep breath. At least she had a centerfold image to fantasize about later. She closed her eyes. When she opened them again, there stood Logan in nothing but unsnapped blue jeans. The hunter green elastic of his boxers showed above the open zipper. A sprinkling of crisp hair led down into the V of his faded denim. Desperately reigning in her desire to marvel at his body, she redirected her attention to his face. “What do you want?”

Logan licked his lips. His eyes burned with flecks of amber and sage. She couldn’t look away from his intensity. Her cheeks flushed. He said only one word. “You.”
